Dec 8, 2014Seems a lot of reviewers worked hard to not get this album. Their loss. A more somber affair than "45", "Get Hurt" still resonates with great tunes, good-to-great lyrics, and the most important thing of all - a belief that rock and roll can save your soul, whether you want it to or not.

Aug 14, 2014A more introspective, sombre album but with the same great tunes and melodies. Took a few listens to appreciate how good it is. Currently on repeat.

Aug 13, 2014Whilst not their best album, it still for me is good. There are some incredible songs on here such as "Get Hurt" and "Break Your Heart". The album is definitely a departure from the bands traditional sound. Its good to see them try to make the change. There are more hits than misses on the album. Overall I am pleased with the album after initially being underwhelmed.

Aug 12, 2014The Gaslight Anthem is currently my favorite artist, and the album is not my favorite album of theirs but also not my least favorite. It's refreshing that they decided to reinvent themselves and shy away from recreating the same album over and over again. Anyone look for a punk album should look elsewhere.

Classic Rock MagazineDec 18, 2014The allure and immediacy of the songs is remarkable, the stuff that translates into an instant classic. [Sep 2014, p.94]

Oct 30, 2014A stylistically diverse collection that reaches for the stars, but can't touch the gold standard of the Jersey boys' 2010 hit American Slang.

MagnetSep 18, 2014The Jersey quartet offers its most effective heartland punk cocktail to date, but shakes and stirs the concoction with new influences and musical approaches. [No. 113, p.56]
