Such a terrible film and even more terrible album, all the songs have bad vocals and terrible production. They sound so cheap.

Queen of 9/11 she's such a narcissistic and vile woman, her career is based on chart manipulation and sleeping with the record label president and then marrying him to stay ontop. Trash

The real tragedy that happened on 9/11 was her releasing this terrible album, and then her making light of the situation 20+ years later shamelessly plugging herself.

Just slightly better then the god awful film its based around. Glitter is a prime example of how to not make a successful soundtrack album.

It's a shame that such a talented singer like Mariah, who had once given us such great albums, wanted to deliver a project like this, which, nevertheless being a movie soundtrack, really lacks truth, ending up being a collection of forgetable songs.

only 1 decent song, the rest of the album is a mess, the production is all over the place and lyric wise there is not much to talk about

mariah should look inside herself and stop trying to be a teenybop star. showing alittle emotional depth(even if theres some insanity down there)would be good for her down the road. shes as fake as her boobs.

While the album may have its flaws, it is for the most part a successful period piece that clearly displays Carey's appreciation for all that has come before her.
  2. While Carey has never been a particularly confessional musician, Glitter seems a step in a more cathartic direction, from which subsequent albums should no doubt benefit.

After years of trading her signature flourishes for a radio-ready purr, she's left with almost no presence at all. [Aug/Sep 2001, p.118]
