Nov 13, 2020I'm a huge fan of Nick Cave and for me this is probably his best album he's ever been involved in, love it, love it, love it
-
Aug 22, 2018Garage rock project from Nick Cave. Great raw licks that beg to be cranked up. Saw them performing on Letterman and I was hooked! Bought the Cd back in 2007 and just pre-ordered the limited edition green vinyl record.

Aug 27, 2010As raw as blood-red steak and as quirky and witty as Cave's poetic pieces, Grinderman delivers a perfect mix of contemporary and vintage sound that just might blow you away, if you let it.

jefframoneApr 12, 2007Awesome! This is the best Nick Cave project in years. Not since "Murder Ballads" has he sounded so much like himself. This record is wonderfully reminiscent of The Birthday Party, but not as chaotic of Cave's seminal group. Is it the best thing Cave has ever done? No. But is it a welcome respite from songs about salvation and Jebus? You bet your bottom. Buy it now.

CPMar 28, 2007My god, what a lame album. Big bad hombres who begged their wives to let them go play golf, and then once they've got their Bud Lights in their hand they say "We told those bitches!" Nick Cave's lamest moment of all time. "No Pussy Blues"? How about "No Soul Blues."

jupiterthiefMar 20, 2007howling wolf, screaming jay hawkins, the velvet underground, pre-williamson stooges, the cramps (& even a bit of the birthday party) all put through the blender until this bruised and bloody blues is spat out......brilliant!

This is mostly a brutal-sounding, and often brutally funny, record full of odd surprises.
-
[A] witty, wild and impressive return to his past.
-
This is not a bunch of old blokes looking to recapture their youth; rather, Grinderman sounds like a freshly hewn and rudely vigorous chunk of leftfield rock.
