It’s mostly a continuation of Sour. While the lyrics are relatable, it sounds a little same

The songwriting in this album was childish and immature. I listened to the entire album several times to see if it would grow on me but none of the songs are memorable. They have no distinctive sound, they are all just loud. The only song that stands out is Lacy.

Todas as músicas parecem as msm e não deve inovação nenhuma comparado ao sour

A teen angst album with a manufactured storyline we’ve hear before over and over again with music that sounds like it belongs to Avril Lavigne in the early 2000’s.

It's got less hits than Sour, so it seems like a less memorable version of that. Go ahead and pass on this album.

more of the same! looks like discard of sour.
Olivia hasn't had any musical maturity here, she insists on writing songs about relationships.

Boring, this didn’t bring anything that we haven’t seen already. There is no wow factor. It just seems like she didn’t put any effort on this

omg a very bad album, I expected better but this is just straight up disappointment, I as a head livie cannot accept this, everything about this album is mid, only 3 - 4 listenable songs, the rest are just trash to your ears

The clear influence of many artists is involved in this album. The project could have been a big deal IF they would've released it back in the 2000s.

Industry plant records more music written by a team of 40+ year old white men in a corner office at Geffen, intended to be basic enough to appeal to the masses but also be sad/emotional/angsty enough for preteen girls.

Olivia Rodrigo is a industry plant and it shows. The album got teased by herself and her team as more mature and grown up when in reality it is the same theme singing about boys now it is about a different one. Really good job so original. Heavily dissapointed. And the paid reviews by these outletts that are giving a 100 Score is a joke. One of the worst albums and most boring albums IOlivia Rodrigo is a industry plant and it shows. The album looks like it's a sour copy. You can't see evolution in the vocals. guts isn't bad, but it's far from good.

To be honest, I am not disappointed because she delivered exactly what I thought she would give us: boring songs. Hopefully, she will evolve on her next project.

This is worse than sour... It sounds the same as her older songs and there is no artistic evolution. I expected more tbh. The lyricism is something a 13 year old would write and the production has some good parts but her voice and the production don’t fit to the rock/grunge influence.

Honestly I was waiting for something better, this album sounds like sour discards, the cover art its really so mediocre,I think we deserve something better and a good work, but she dont do it this time.

So much unoriginality, from using lyrics from Lana to basically trying and failing to make her own heather with Lacey. I couldn’t even finish the album as it was annoying me lol…

Yes, it is a heavier sound than sour, but apart from that I was disappointed, because her songwriting really has not improved imo. None of the songs got to me and i don't know how to say this, but lyrcis and music sometimes just don't match? you could've tried harder to find the perfect words, but you didn't.
I'm sure any young girl who loves her will disagree, but imo olivia is not worth

I'm sure any young girl who loves her will disagree, but imo olivia is not worth the hype, at least not from a musical pov. artists like conan gray are doing a better job at creating something that is really a work of art, but maybe this is just a expression and doesn't aim to be good, timeless music. everyone has different tastes, this one was not for me, i really wished for better songwriting, "compliments like bullets on my skin" just isn't good enough for me.

“Teenage Dream” recycles a song title of Katy Perry’s and echoes a twisty-turny melody of Lana Del Rey’s. Yet Rodrigo’s emotional presence is so strong throughout “Guts” — so believable even at its most unrelatable — that you never lose the sense of a specific young person navigating a trial of her own making.

GUTS is emphatic proof that Rodrigo isn't just good for a kid -- she's grown into an artist with plenty of things to say, and the confidence and eloquence to say them her way.
