Solid riffing, duder. I give the review function on Metacritic 1/10. It read riff_age as a swear and displayed it as r***age for some dumb **** And it makes one write 75 words. Like, what the **** is that ****. I now realize it was best I waited a **** decade to try to write a review on this piece of **** site and I am now **** writing only to see what **** this **** uses as **** **** assSolid riffing, duder. Recorded at Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio studio, High Anxiety will encourage your neck to snap, Weil’s over-the-top vocal delivery combined with the band’s refreshing lack of constraint apparently “too heavy metal” as spoken aloud during the altered soundbyte that follows Riding the Universe.

Musically speaking, radical reinvention isn't Oozing Wound's raison d'etre, so don't expect a new version of the wheel. Instead, there’s willful progression, incremental growth, and renewed focus. After the sprawling Whatever Forever, High Anxiety's comparatively concise seven-track, thirty-four-minute runtime feels super concentrated and highly potent, calling to mind the band's previous high-water mark, Earth Suck. But High Anxiety is no rehash.

High Anxiety is the record that some of us have been waiting for Oozing Wound to make.
