    Mushonga’s take on music is globe-trotting and (as per the title) galaxy-spanning. Though it runs the gamut of Afropop, chamber pop, and synthpop, the intention never feels like subgenres are being ticked off. This is soul music, literally and figuratively.

    Whether in Harare, Rotterdam or Peckham, Mushonga feels those most-human of emotions: heartache, isolation, pressure to conform, but refuses to be shackled by them. Instead, we are invited on her geographical and psychological journey, and encouraged to embrace the turbulence.

    Tastefully pieced together, ‘Jungle’ concludes In A Galaxy with chopped and screwed sound productions and juddering beats, a wholesome way to complete an emphatically creative album.
