    Genuinely a great album. No filler songs, incredible production and catchy as hell. The critics couldn't be more wrong about this and it still shows they hate Iggy for now apparent reason.

    "In My Defense" é um álbum totalmente inofensivo, com rimas sem graça e uma produção que não leva o trabalho a lugar algum. Parece muito mais uma mesma faixa que foi estendida e jogada aleatoriamente com frases de efeito que facilmente seriam legendas de fotos no Facebook só pro álbum ter a duração mínima pra se chamar álbum. A estética continua sendo a única coisa interessante da"In My Defense" é um álbum totalmente inofensivo, com rimas sem graça e uma produção que não leva o trabalho a lugar algum. Parece muito mais uma mesma faixa que foi estendida e jogada aleatoriamente com frases de efeito que facilmente seriam legendas de fotos no Facebook só pro álbum ter a duração mínima pra se chamar álbum. A estética continua sendo a única coisa interessante da artista, mas chega a incomodar quando um artista prova ter tanta falta de profundidade e autenticidade em meio a videoclipes e ensaios fotográficos bem feitos. Isso pode até conquistar alguns gays carentes de pop e que só ouvem música literalmente com os olhos e não com os ouvidos.     simply one of my favorites of the year, thanks to its fun and carefree nature. the lyrics may disappoint a bit if you go by the album title, but isn’t she allowed to talk some nasty **** as long as she is happy and satisfied with her material? that’s what i think about it, the chronicles of happiness and satisfaction of a rich woman!

    Although the album does not hold up to the title it doesn’t fail to get you up and dancing. The bar spitting and the cadence of Iggy on this album has shown how she has evolved as an MC. The catchy beats and choruses make such a fun album.

    She's comming back, after years stucked into bad moments, totally indie! She has her own label, her own way to promote her stuff and she's amazing in what she does. Unfortunatelly a bunch of tiny asses came here and said "ewn lemme rate her new work as a piece of s**t because I want new stuff but not in the way that she proceeds."
    In My Defense is poetry. Which deserves attention and support. Azalea becamed wiser in each track of the album. Always giving the gays™ what they wanted to. I loved this album at once and I'll love it twice.

    Si que es cierto que se esperaba un par de canciones que estuvieran más acorde con el título y el concepto del álbum (más del estilo de "Thanks I Get" y "Clap Back") con letras en las que ella se pronuncie sobre las críticas, ataques y contratiempos que se han presentado a lo largo de su carrera a través de un rap agresivo y rápido, sin embargo In My Defense es uno de los mejores álbumes de lo que va del año con canciones que aunque repetitivas se logran quedar pegadas en la mente con facilidad, con sonidos que están en tendencia y con letras que hablan de los temas más importantes en la sociedad actual como el flexin' o el sexo de una manera muy catchy. Sin duda es un álbum contemporáneo a el momento en el que se encuentra el rap, debido principalmente a J White Did It, único productor de este trabajo al cual se le agradece este giro en la música de Iggy con respecto a su álbum debut The New Classic, evidenciando la evolución de la rapera no sólo en sonido, también como persona podemos percibir a una Iggy más madura, más segura y a veces hasta jocosa.     This album is definitely one of the best rap albums of the year. It showcased Iggy’s amazing improvement flow-wise, lyrics-wise, and content-wise. “The New Classic” showed more of a “pop singer” side of her but this album definitely brings out the aggressive & “rapper” side of her. I’m proud.

    So many catchy songs and clever lyrics. I’m leaving a 10 due to the fact that Critics need to stop sleeping on Iggy.

    An album named 'In My Defense' — only Iggy Azalea will do this. Album full of bops, there is a few other things that I dislike — "Big Bag", the song itself has no power, and the last song. I didn't like "P**sy Pop" but I didn't dislike it. It's an okay song but has no rights for being the ending of the album. Middle of the album is fun and she just let the album fade with the tracklisting.

After a long 5-year-hiatus since her first debut album, although she never left during all this time (check her last EP “Survive The Summer”, dropped last year), Iggy comes back as an independent artist with her sophomore album “In My Defense”, an interesting project that could be done better but it’s sonically cohesive, delivers diversity in flows, improvement in her rapping & sounds more confident than ever, despite the little monotony of the instrumentalization & missing something that I can’t point it out.

    In this statement, she defends herself against Internet, the media, the haters & the male dominance in Hip&Hop/Rap industry. Starting with aggressive tracks as “Thanks I Get” & “Clapback”, she let us clear that she has made an impact in the industry and won’t let nobody to bring her down those who try to erase her, ignore and hate. After that, her braggadocio is extended through catchy hooks on songs like “Sally Walker”, “Started”, “Spend It” and “Commes des Garçons”, bragging about fame, money & beauty. At this point, she comes up with a renewed attitude & energy that wasn’t shown in her debut album.

    There’s some bouncy-freaky-tracks as “Freak Of The Week”, featuring Juicy J, and “Just Wanna”, the stand-outs of the album, which proves that she’s familiar in this kind of bounce and twerkish music. However, there’s some little falldowns as some features doesn’t connect really with the songs or brings something new on the table, like the boring monotone Lil Yatchy’s verse in “Hoemita” and see-and-not-seen Stini in “Big Bag”, unlike Kash Doll **** It Up”, a dark rework of her hit “Fancy”, who dares to switch to a different flow, and Juicy J.

    She has improved so much in rapping though and has shown her versatility to deliver different flows in every song like “Commes des Garçons” or the whispering in “Just Wanna”, as trying to stay away from the pop sound and being more hardcore & raw. Also sounds more confident when she brags herself, shades & be unapologetic. Maybe it was her time to say whatever she had her mind.

    In the other hand, the instrumentalization & beats are kinda similar and nothing was risked, dared or different. Unlike in “Survive The Summer”, which every song sounded different but was sonically cohesive in general, this doesn’t favor really with the content Iggy is bringing with her lyrical content & flows.

    In conclusion, it’s a good project that needs to be more polished, especially the beats & features, but an improvement from her departure of the “The New Classic” rap-pop sound and sounding more comfortable & confident with herself. It's not her best project but not the worst though. If she stays in this lane and risks, she could get the respect she deserves.    … Expand

    A masterpiece. Iggy always knows how to surprise her public. Great melodies and good lyrics, it’s an album full of smash hits that you can’t forget how to sing it.

    Um projeto majestoso, que visa mostrar que ela está ali sim, que sabe fazer rap e que não liga para Hate. Com ótimas músicas e poucos feats., In My Defense mostra que Iggy evoluiu como artista e que sabe e dá o que seu público espera dela.

    i´m addicted with this record, Iggy knows how to work, she´s always creative with her videos, they are always very well done, with quality and colors, she is a warrior queen and I loved "in my defense" album.

    Nobody expected Azalea to come back super talented and with an entirely new shtick. Nonetheless, In My Defense could have been a tad bit more introspective or at the very least, fun.

    The album is stacked with cartoonish approximations of what she thinks a rap song should sound like: shivers of bass, the occasional “skrrrt,” Mad Libs of designer brands and bodily fluids. Many sound like direct imitations of the rappers she admires.
