Sep 8, 2016What gives KIN its weight is Tunstall's craft. Invisible Empire/Crescent Moon proved that she could turn inward and be gripping but by turning that aesthetic inside out—this is an album about embracing the outside world--she's every bit as compelling.
-
MojoSep 8, 2016The result is 11 dazzling, fabulously hooky pop-rockers. [Oct 2016, p.95]
-
Sep 9, 2016Kin clicks when Tunstall's vocals dig deep on tracks like "Evil Eye" and "Run On Home," and when she and James Bay strike a sexy, slow-rolling groove on "Two Way," it makes an awfully good case for going back to Cali.
-
UncutSep 8, 2016Kin still sounds like the work of a clued-up hipster who doesn't particularly like the grimly effective pop songs that she's able to write. [Oct 2016, p.40]
-
Q MagazineSep 8, 2016She's finally rediscovered what made her so intriguing(the hooks, the sharp lyrics, the energy) in the first place. [Oct 2016, p.113]

Sep 9, 2016It’s smoothly produced by veteran producer Tony Hoffer, and each track has a radio-friendly sheen to it and a catchy chorus. Which is all very nice, but it’s disappointing news for those of us who prefer Tunstall at her more experimental.
