Top 3 Nas (tied with TLTs) The 17 song tracklist, (W/ no features) feels fresh due to Nas's pin point rhymes and storytelling, mixed with Hitboys production. An impressive outing for the legendary Nas. The culmination of multiple album releases under the King's Disease name, this is easily the best of the bunch. No features at all, this album sees Nas at his lyrical best, assisted by Hit-Boy, a collaboration that has proven once again magical and enthralling. Nas sounds focused and confident, delivering some of his career-best tracks on this album.

Let me be clear from the beginning: I'm not a Nas hater but I'm not a die hard Nas fan. I liked KD and KD2 a lot. I wasn't a big fan of Magic but I didn't have great expectations on that. I understrand that a lot of the 10s right here might be Nas stans but I don' see anything special in this album. I'm not being harsh, I'm just expressing what I'm feeling. Let me go in detail.

Every song hasn't a special trait. It's just old school rap with some good production. I know that many people like this type of music still but since I listen to a lot of stuff, modern and old style, I find this album just as a decent attempt to keep alive a style that doesn't get so much appeal nowadays. Denzel and JID albums were a lot greater from this point of view. Furthermore, this album can't get the same ratings as Kendrick's MM&TBS (although that Kendrick album is not one of his greatest in my opinion).

After one listen I thought this was a 6/10. Good try but nothing special. After listening to it two and three times, it just became so boring that I had to skip more than 4/5 songs.

Talking about this album's highlights, I would definitely define Legit and Hood2Hood as great songs, solid 7.5/10 for me but the rest is just mid and songs like Beef and Don't shoot are boring and plain. I had expectations for this one, not gonna lie. Disappointed but I still think Nas can give us something special in the future. He's not finished at all. Still this album is a 4/10 for me. Not good enough.

This is just my opinion and opinions are based on taste. So don't kill me for expressing my opinion just because you liked it.

In a review I wrote for "Magic" on Amazon, I said "Nas is Dr. Strange and Hitboy is his Timestone," because together, he's bringing back Nas's penmenship that rivals his "Illmatic" to "I Am" days, which were undoubtable his most legendary.

Nas's lyrical prowess and Hitboy's legendary production is setting the industry standard for what true Hip-Hop from the soul sounds like.
