An album by an artist that understands majority of the world has not heard of them yet, so ride on your strengths and don't let up. A run (musically) reminiscence of early 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes.

There's some bangers here. And the first track is probably the best he's ever made. It gets a little repetitive and lacks any real depth. DaBaby's solo work has not been at the level of his features yet.

DaBaby has proven to be one of the best rappers of 2019 going into 2020, and this album shows how he will prosper into the new year. He has a consistent and exciting flow, and is rarely out taped by his features. Nicki Minaj is the only to do so. And INTRO shows his conscious range, even if it seems to be only song that does so, but being that that song is the intro to his second album, heDaBaby has proven to be one of the best rappers of 2019 going into 2020, and this album shows how he will prosper into the new year. I want to like Da Baby but a lot of his songs sound the same to me. XXL is by far the best track but other than that it is a monotonous listen that seems to be less intriguing than his last album.

DaBaby is one of the best rappers of 2019. His song aren't the same, yes they are similar but not the exact same.

DaBaby continues his successful 2019 stint as one of the best up-and-coming rap artists of the year following his debut record "Baby on Baby." As a follow up to the aforementioned record, "Kirk" provides a better look into how DaBaby handles mainstream beats and prominent features. Many lyrical high points and impressive production tailor-made for DaBaby's style. It feels like more of an opportunity to capitalize on his up-and-coming career by chasing mainstream hits and less of a sincere effort. Expand

It's good, just don't expect a lot of content you can latch on to. The lyricism talent and storytelling potential is so clearly there, yet it feels like DaBaby is almost scared to venture into new sounds and flows. If he made more songs like Intro we could really get a feel of his potential. But this is just a decent modern rap album. A little bit too repetitive, but the tracks are good. If only the production was a little bit diferent and the lyrics better, it would be a classic.

While newer production tricks add some kick to DaBaby's formula, stagnant lyrics and monotonous flows present him as an artist unwilling to change; swamped by slushy imitations of his best work, the gems on Kirk aren't given the platform to shine.

The project suffers a bit from hit-chasing evidenced from the bubbly Kevin Gates-assisted “POP” and catchy but baseless Nicki Minaj pairing dialed up on “iPHONE.” Unlike Baby on Baby, which sported “Suge,” it’s the hardcore “XXL” that serves as the album’s most complete record.

An ambitious album that takes chance that mostly succeed and only occasionally miss the mark.
