Knowing what Tove Lo is capable of this album appeared to be quite disappointing to me. Beats and rhythms sound unoriginal, effortless and count amongst the most mainstream pop ones of Tove Lo's carreer. Even if the core message is still present it seems truly erased by the disco-pop slope of 'Lady Wood' so that we are faced with an attractive but very sweetened repetitive musical soup.

There are two featured artists: Joe Janiak and Wiz Khalifa. If the first one sounds great and legitimate, Wiz Khalifa totally seems out of context. His verse is as short as useless. I suppose it was just to have a male voices on her album. Another sign that this project is more commercial than authentic.

Не сдавая позиции Туве выпускает синти-поп альбом, который можно смело считать одним из лучших альбомов 2016 года. Абсолютно бесспорно лучший ее альбом.

Lady Wood seems to perfectly capture the euphoric chaos of a night of partying. Chapter 1 captures the high point of the night, with high energy and high spirits. Chapter 2 effortlessly paints the night's transition to something more introspective without losing the high energy of the first chapter. I've loved the entire album ever since it was first released, it never gets old.

'Lady Wood' is a dark and conceptual album by Tove Lo. The album greatly expresses the singer's depression and anxiety and humbly discusses sex and mentality. Songs such as "Cool Girl", "Keep It Simple" and "Influence" are very influencing indeed. However, production can sometimes be mediocre.

Вообще один из лучших поп-альбомов, что я слышал в своей жизни, настолько энергичен вначале и настолько драматичен в конце. Туве не разочаровывает.

Tove Lo shows, this time, more stability while embracing more mature themes like sex and love than in her debut album 'Queen of the Clouds'. A great body of work.

This POP flows, has identity and is authentic. I really stan this album, Lady Wood is the empowered Tove Lo we saw growingfrom the past now. Lyrics, Instrumentals and Production on point, hands down.

Lady Wood exudes bravery but reveals a hidden layer of insecurity. It is distinct that throughout the two-part conceptual album that Tove Lo is on a self-destructive quest for lust and love. It is distinct that throughout the two-part conceptual album that Tove Lo is on a self-destructive quest for lust and love. Each song on Lady Wood administers a diverse self-perspective view of chaos whether it be through love, sex, drugs, alcohol or mental health. It further grants us passage into the bowels of Tove Lo’s emotional eco-state through the skills of self-actualisation and reflection. Sonically, Lady Wood is a treasure chest full of symphonies and hooks that accentuates the subject of passionate devotion for another. In the beginning chapter ‘Fairy Dust’, we feel the high of adrenaline and the temptation of chasing it. However, as we divulge into the second chapter ‘Fire Fade’, we start to see the euphoric atmosphere wear thin with Lo showing unrestrained indulgence in tragedy. The beauty of Lady Wood is that not only is it spontaneous and brutally honest, it holds a platform towards the expression of empowering femininity and vulnerability. From her debut album, Queen of the Clouds, Tove Lo’s persona has effectively taken flight to new heights which is apparent through her smart, lyrical content and overall tone. The fault of this album is the absence of vocal elevation. I felt that some of the song’s monotone tempos and overall ambience restricted Lo’s robust, vocal capabilities that have been showcased in her previous work. The album may not provide an outlet in the heavily competitive commercial market, but it certainly hits the mark when it comes to context and fulfilment.

    - Standout Tracks: True Disaster, Cool Girl, Vibes (feat. Joe Janiak), Imaginary Friend, Keep it Simple

The album could be more explored and not even explained the idea is great, but poorly executed. The lyrics are good, but the beats are too fast. The image of the era looks dirty too.

Her debut album became my favorite and I became interested in her music. There I could find something different from traditional pop music. She's always been a good songwriter and had a powerful voice and that's why I was sure that second album will include the same talent and effort . I had been waiting such a long time before she released the first single "Cool Girl". For a few days I was disappointed because of the composition but when you listen to that song more times it becomes interesting and stimulating to think. Second single "True Disaster" is still the best song in Lo's career for me. "Influence" is a shameless anthem and Wiz Khalifa completes it. Finally there came the premiere day of the album and I listened to every song form the album. I discovered that this is a part of masterpiece. Tove created the best meaningful lyrics for every song , light melody matched to her voice. It's something that our world needs today. The records aren't set to be successful ,played on the radio because these songs are giving us difficulties ,so it means that this album is only for people who want to think psychologically. She uses some vulgarity but in her music it takes us to our own feelings. Two chapters of the album "Fairy Dust" and "Fire Fade" come through incredible roads. So , to sum up I need to say that Tove Lo has made the greatest work. Now I'm waiting impatiently for second part of "Lady Wood" and I know that it will continue her art. Expand

This album is very different from Queen of The Clouds which is nice, because it shows growth as an artist. Whereas QOTC was about the love and club life, Lady Wood is much more down & dirty.

Bem produzido, coeso e autêntico. Tove Lo garantiu seu lugar no pop explorando a sensualidade de sua própria persona. O filme só contribuiu para a compreensão do álbum como um todo.

This is the best dark pop album by female artist since Madonna's Confessions on the Dance Floor. The album has a clear plot twist and story line that goes with the songs on the album. But too bad the album is too short for having only 11 tracks.

While there aren't as many standout singles this time around, the Swedish singer impressively maintains a consistent tone throughout, and its two-part structure adds to its listenability as an album experience.

For all the explosive choruses and repeated synth trills, Lady Wood, a still-wonderful pop album, falls just shy of being truly great, from saying something truly memorable.
