Everything comes together perfectly on Lady, from beginning to end it's a dream come true for lovers of classic soul; if it had been released in 1970, it would considered a timeless classic, talked about in the kind of reverent tones reserved for Lady Soul or What's Going On.

Wray and Walker’s transatlantic pairing is beautifully natural.

Lady deliver a definitive bright spot for those who remember when female R&B was great, and believe it can be again.

It’s sassy, saucy, sexy and attitudinous, and though you’ve heard a lot of it before, Lady hits the spot more often than it misses.

They produced 11 perfect songs defined by sweet, honeyed vocals and spiritual uplift. [Apr 2013, p. 90]

Lady's is a well-trodden field and, at times, their lyrical tropes are overfamiliar to the point of feeling vague, if not downright lazy. So Wray and Walker distinguish themselves by amping up the charm and cheeriness to the max.

Pure pleasure for lovers of deep soul music? Absolutely. [May 2013, p.73]
