Dec 7, 2019Straight up 10, this is one of those albums that you listen to the whole way through. That last track "Jesus is coming" has one of the most calming beats I've ever heard in a rap song before. I don't know how this album got overlooked back then

Nov 10, 2018Kendrick influenced this. rhapsody delivered well and thi is the best female rap album of the decade and one of the best ever
-
Apr 9, 2018It's not only her best work but the best amongst her peers, the sort of album that transcends the lane she was in beforehand, transcends whatever antiquated gender biases may still permeate the genre and puts her in the same category as your favorite rapper.

Jan 9, 2018Dull at times, and absolutely incredible in others. Rapsody's highly praised lyricism is justified with her great verses in every song

Nov 23, 2017This album is incredible. Its without a doubt a potential classic. Her lyricism is incredible. If she continues in this fashion, she will be one of the G.O.A.Ts.
-
Nov 13, 2017This album is a classic hands down. So expansive and expressive and the diversity of flows and beats makes this an incredible listen. Lyrically Rapsody is untouchable compared to everybody. The beats a top of the line and there's just no going wrong with this epic album.

The WireDec 19, 2017When she laughs that she’s never read Robert Greene’s self-help manual 48 Laws, not only is she declaring her album a bullshit-free zone, she’s redefining priorities for 21st century grown-up rap. On this form you have to hope her approach prevails. [Nov 2017, p.70]

Dec 11, 2017Laila's Wisdom is Evans' lyrically broadest and musically richest work, yet it doesn't have the sprawling quality of the first album.
-
Dec 7, 2017It uses funk, jazz and simple loops that blend elements of rap’s spiritual origins with more recent sounds in a way that allows Rapsody’s throwback lyrics and casually complex bars to shine.
