  1. The trademark Proclaimers sound was still there, including the finger-snapping opening title track, the staccato guitar that introduces "In Recognition," and the thoughtful lyrics, discussing religion on 'New Religion' and 'If There's a God.'
  2. There's no doubt about it, though, as in-your-face as some of these songs are, the Proclaimers are at their best when, well, proclaiming and protesting vehemently over simple melodies and a stomping march of a beat.
  3. Mojo

Highly politicised, yet leavened with deft vocal harmony and potent melodies, the album drips with passion and thoughtfully targeted ire. [Oct 2007, p. 90]
  4. This might be a ride through familiar territory but The Proclaimers specialise in steadfast song writing and this is sure to satisfy their legions of fans.
