Sep 12, 2022This album is as if alien psych rock was a genre. Every song is a new experience, it's a 14 course meal of an album.
-
Aug 24, 2022If the beatles needed antidepressants and friends this is probably how they'd sound. Lonerism is an epic psychedelic rock record that like the title suggest explores loneliness though the relationships we hold. It's melodic, fresh and original. Higlights:feeps like we're only going backwards, be above it,apocalypse &elephant

Aug 15, 2022Kaleidoscopic views, pink unicorns, candy grass describe how psych the album really is. Kevin’s vocals, absurd riffs, orgasmic synths, and outstanding album percs makes the album my favorite album of all time.
-
May 13, 2022‘Lonerism’ - a beautiful piece of art created by the brilliant Kevin Park.

Jan 13, 2022With the cover and the vibe, Time Impala will always be a nostalgic comeback to my tumblr years. It is chill, very well balanced and slightly psychedelic, but just to the right level.

May 25, 2020Brilliant album. Great guitars, good songwriting, Still their best album although all the others are great too.
-
Feb 23, 2020There are some great tunes on here: Apocalypse Dreams, Mind Mischief, Sun's Coming Up, and of course Elephant. Nothing is really a 'miss' but some tunes aren't as strong as others. Feels Like We Only Go Backwards is also a strong song, and is also more accessible to a larger audience, but is foreshadowing of where Tame Impala could, and eventually will go... more pop.

Nov 22, 2019incrÃvel. Lonerism é uma nova roupagem para o som criado pelos Beatles e Pink Floyd na era do rock psicodélico. Essa forte influência resulta em um dos melhores discos do século XXI.
-
Sep 16, 2019Great.Its four A.M right now and I'm not gonna do a review properly.............
-
Aug 11, 2019This album is near perfect in every way. Production quality is ahead of its time, yet simultaneously nostalgic. Melodically, rhythmically, it pushes boundaries that no other band of this generation is capable of crossing. Kevin Parker managed to surpass the expectations he built with Innerspeaker.
-
Jul 27, 2019it seems like I find something new every-time I listen incredible album, one of the most cum worthy albums of the decade
-
May 7, 2019Definitely one of the best albums of the decade so far. Incredibly catchy since the first sentence ("gotta be above it"). I would say it's a big trip between psychedelia, electronic pop and a little of stoner rock riffs.
-
Feb 11, 2019Lonerism mixes the Beatles' fresh pop appeal with the couple of layers which lets experience absolutely immersive, gorgeous and soul-washing. Although some tracks doesn't know hour of stopping, listening doesn't gets committed, because of album has much more offering.

Sep 7, 2015Lonerism is a great album that uses psychedelic music in order to create something new and intriguing. It's a rock record, but also a pop one since there are catchy melodies that are hard to forget.

Aug 3, 2015Lonerism is a current day masterpiece. All of the tracks work together to create what is not only a revival of psychedelic music, but a completely revitalized, updated and modern version of it.
-
Jan 12, 2015Rich, lavish, eclectic and fresh. More powerful than the 'inner speaker' album delivering Pink Floyd ambience with at times Lennon-like vocals and a sprinkling of T-Rex, all wrapped up in a modern synth rock blanket of luscious sound. A fabulous album from these Aussie lads that will touch upon all avid music lovers around the world. Highly recommended.
-
Nov 16, 2014Takes the ideas of Innerspeaker to a new level, and will certainly be tough for them to top. Overall an impressive CD that will be on repeat in my life for a long, long time. (Bonus points for the iTunes inclusion of "Led Zeppelin" song)

Aug 2, 2014This material makes you fly and travel to a thousand different worlds; and all of them feel oblivious, fluorescent and, most of all, perfectly flawless.
-
Aug 2, 2014Absolutely the album of 2012, maybe even better than Kendricks GKMC. Innerspeaker had some pretty weak tracks and the production wasn't quite as good as it is here.
-
Aug 2, 2014Even though this album is definitely the more pop-friendly mainstream side of indie, it's really good. Every tracks stands out, the instrumentation is so fleshed out and some tracks kick ass.
-
Aug 2, 201410/10 bong schlongs. everything is right and sexful. i could hit so maaany listen to this. no weak tracks or any a that filler or any bullllshiiiit crap.

Mar 18, 2014Musical genius Kevin Parker has once again crafted a spectacular arrangement of songs, even better than those on Innerspeaker. Here, the sounds of the '60s and '70s are brought back once again and amped up to fit the modern era in a way only he could achieve. I don't think there is a bad song on this album, and if you're a fan of neo-psychedelic music with a huge sound, you likely won't, either.

Aug 3, 2013Didn't sound too special at a first listen, but as I listened to the album more, it really grew on me, one of my favorite albums of the decade for sure, Innerspeaker is also great.

Jul 7, 2013Simply put, this is one of the best albums I've ever heard. A near-perfect combination of technical mastery and emotional impact. Expansive, immersive, and yet somehow it remains focused. A perfect 10.
-
May 9, 2013This album makes me hopeful that bands like Tame Impala have a chance to bring psychedelic rock that enchants your mind. The tunes on this album each have their own feeling to them but are consistent enough to fit on the same album. Great stuff!!!

Dec 31, 2012Lonerism or loner??? Definitely one of the best albums of 2012. Tracks to listen: Elephant, Led Zeppelin (a bonus track) and Beverly Laurel (another bonus track).
-
Dec 25, 2012Lonerism deals with much of the 70's psychedelic era and transforms issues that we may have going on today into a melty substance of addiction and a need to know basis. Showing what the album brings to the table definitely encourages it to be spread around like gossip. Good album.
-
Dec 21, 2012Reverb is a dangerous thing to dabble in. Tame Impala has found an interesting sound that doesn't just dabble in reverb, it's dead-in-the-water drenched with it. The life in some very good songwriting and catchy guitar riffs is almost drained by it. Props for sticking with a general aesthetic, guys, but sometimes it's more interesting to hear what the hell you're actually doing.

Dec 17, 2012I wanted to love this album like the critics seem to, but it really did nothing for me. All the songs are meandering, lacking strong melody, and they all sound the same. I guess I just don't get it.

Dec 1, 2012Probably one of the albums of the year. NME has named it album of the year. It's got diferent sounds and styles, this is psychedelic music at its best. Also check their bonus tracks "Led Zeppelin" and "Beverly Laurel".

The rest of the songs avoid.... I was hoping for this cd to be amazing instead I struggled with it. -
Nov 25, 2012Simply put, this is an amazing record. A psychedelic pop masterpiece. I recently saw the animated video for "Elephants" online...very cool. I can't wait to hear what Kevin Parker comes up with next.
-
Nov 18, 2012Finally this website puts this on here. Great album, easily better than 'Innerspeaker' and one of the best of 2012. I wouldn't call it perfect, but it's close enough.

-
Dec 21, 2012The titles and lyrics form a kind of manifesto of loneliness, elevating self-doubt and even insecurity into badges of honour. He struggles but, with the music growing all around him like a protective cushion, we only hear the sound of a deep, blissful sigh.
-
Dec 4, 2012The band's latest, Lonerism, digs even deeper into those themes and sounds [early-'70s psychedelia, proto-metal, and British pop], and pulls out a masterful collage.
-
Dec 3, 2012Tame Impala saves itself from mere revivalism with 21st-century self-consciousness and, tucked amid the swirl and buzz, touching confessions of insecurity.
