MojoThrilling third from the ex-Headcoatee's duo. [May 2010, p. 93]

Medicine County is a scattered disc, for sure, but its simple joys are ripe for the plucking.
-
It's hard to see Medicine County winning her any new fans, but for existing ones it's a welcome release that shows her moving further into Americana (more in the old school sense, but, sure, in the No Depression sense, too.)
-
There are too many good moments, and Golightly is too talented a singer to dismiss this, but at the same time, this album just doesn't live up to her high standards, and she's done too much work far better than this for any fans to not feel a bit letdown by this release.
-
Medicine County is more boisterous than 2008's Dirt Don't Hurt, but there's still something pleasantly lackadaisical about Golightly's delivery, and her songs never feel like they've been blindly co-opted.
-
Under The RadarThe best of it is spot-on in inhabiting a kind of mythical, long-since deserted America of corn liquor and cut-throat juke joints. [Apr 2010, p.88]

UptonK.Apr 12, 2010I love this one. Murder In Mind brings a smile to my face every time. Great songs. She has a great voice - love that swamp vibe.
