Aug 5, 2015While Author & Punisher is assuredly best enjoyed in a live setting, YouTube videos of performances and Shone explaining his machines suffice in bringing you into his world where, trapped and alone, a crazed inventor is forced into submission. And in that self-imposed cage, Author & Punisher comes alive.

Aug 5, 2015There’s actually a groove there, however, and Author & Punisher’s lot is to never give in to the base aesthetics of speed or pummel. Instead, Melk En Honing explores every corner of sub-doom tempo, with occasional detours into extreme melody and harmony buried deep enough to avoid comparison to Alice In Chains and neo-doom sweethearts Pallbearer.
