    Aggressive enough to be Post-Hardcore, edgy enough to be Punk and is yet still the band we know. Misadventures is the appropriately titled fourth LP by the San Diego band Pierce The Veil.
    It's begins with the track 'Dive In' which is equal doses of Punk-rock and Post-Hardcore. The song does a good job reminding the world that they are still one of the biggest acts in their respective    Aggressive enough to be Post-Hardcore, edgy enough to be Punk and is yet still the band we know. Misadventures is the appropriately titled fourth LP by the San Diego band Pierce The Veil.
    It's begins with the track 'Dive In' which is equal doses of Punk-rock and Post-Hardcore. The song does a good job reminding the world that they are still one of the biggest acts in their respective genre.
    'Today I Saw The Whole World' feels like a summarization of their 'Misadventures' which only made it the perfect song to place at the middle of the album. It's catchy, upbeat and is definitely another stand out tracks.
    Other songs that you will find yourself drawn to include pop-rock tunes like 'Song For Isabela' and 'Cirlces'. Long time fans will enjoy tracks like 'Phantom Power And Ludicrous Speed' and 'The Divine Zero'.    … Expand

    Pierce the Veil have been hailed as Gods within there own genre for years but still somehow manage to fly under the radar for the general rock music public. They are the band your proud to introduce to your friends and this latest album showcases the reasons why in brilliant fashion. The instrumental talent displayed on there latest album would impress even the most cynical rock critic.Pierce the Veil have been hailed as Gods within there own genre for years but still somehow manage to fly under the radar for the general rock music public. Leader Vic Fuentes reminds us how dynamic of a front man he can be with clever lyrics and the ability to paint mental pictures in our minds song after song. Misadventures proves that taking some time away can be a beneficial and ultimately rewarding thing for a band in today's "get em' out quick" music world. ****… Expand

    This album would be so much better if they got someone else to do the production. Is it just me, or did they put way too much emphasis on Vic's vocals? We get it, he's the frontman, he's center stage. Sheesh. The actual songwriting and instrumentals are really good. An improvement on those in Collide with the Sky. But then producers, mixers and engineers have to go and filter them out soThis album would be so much better if they got someone else to do the production. Is it just me, or did they put way too much emphasis on Vic's vocals? We get it, he's the frontman, he's center stage. Sheesh. The actual songwriting and instrumentals are really good. An improvement on those in Collide with the Sky. But then producers, mixers and engineers have to go and filter them out so all we can hear is Vic's squeaky voice.

    The album has the songwriting skills from CWTS, and then the electronic, effects-laden production from Selfish Machines. Not a winning combination.

    This beautiful album which sounds a bit "happier" than "Collide with the Sky" is such a good proof that Vic Fuentes & company can create sounds that penetrate your soul.

    Pierce The Veil is just as energetic and melodic as you remember them. They appeal to their fan base without sacrificing their sound or lyricism. The album is Pierce the Veil refined and never giving up. Listen with a pair of great headphones or speakers and not the $15 skullcandy's your mom bought you. Production is great with very dynamic sounding post-hardcore instrumentals. I feel likePierce The Veil is just as energetic and melodic as you remember them.     pierce the veil is going higher and higher , showing that they are not a pop band, vanishing after an album.
    Lyrics are magnificent, as musicians they show their technical mastering and maturity.
    This album is a must have; i'm 52 old and went through a lot of things in the rock circle, and this album will have a special place in my heart and mind for a long time for sure

    To be honest, this is the band responsible for getting me into the post-hardcore genre in the first place, but since then, my taste has expanded to appeal to better bands in the genre and in retrospect, Misadventures is the most pristine, cleanly produced, Warped Tour-ready heap of garbage I've ever heard. Pierce The Veil and many other bands in popular and contemporary post-hardcore areTo be honest, this is the band responsible for getting me into the post-hardcore genre in the first place, but since then, my taste has expanded to appeal to better bands in the genre and in retrospect, Misadventures is the most pristine, cleanly produced, Warped Tour-ready heap of garbage I've ever heard. Pierce The Veil and many other bands in popular and contemporary post-hardcore are an insult to the genre. The anti-corporate, DIY, lo-fi punk aesthetic has been completely betrayed for this garbage. I'm not saying that I'm some hardcore punk dude whose completely anti-establishment and a total hipster, I'm just saying that when it comes to more aggressive forms of punk rock, I want it to sound like ACTUAL punk rock, not pop. With that being said, this entire record hinges on Vic's whiny and nasal vocal capabilities, unnecessarily electronic instances and production that lacks any sort of rawness that should have been there. There are screams, but they way they come off seem more tacky and trendy than anything emotionally despondent. From the beginning track (Dive In) to the end (Song for Isabelle), this record is just 40 minutes of completely bloated, sugar-sweet, sappy emo-tinged post-hardcore that I wish I wash my brain with bleach to completely rid myself of it. And don't get me started with Floral and Fading, that's the worst of it. The stereotypical embodiment of commercial emo itself. If anyone reads, just know that there are better bands that do this better. Like leaps and bounds ahead of this teenage-angst crap. Trust me, I'm sure you'll be smart enough to find them.… Expand

    I just recently became aware of this band and this album is pretty fantastic. The 5th track is somewhat of a dud, but every other song on here is solid to excellent and the album as a whole has a cohesive, properly sequenced feel to it. IMO this album is tied with Diamond Eyes by Deftones for best metal album of the last 10 years

    They stay true to the genre's penchant for loud/quiet/loud posturing, on-the-nose emotional cues, and strategically placed breakdowns throughout, but they do so while flexing some significant creative muscle.

    This album does ooze quality though and has enough flourishes of originality to keep the quartet moving forward, but perhaps even more importantly for the band, their fans (and us, for that matter), the wait is over.
