This worthwhile venture serves as a fine complementary package, not exactly pushing at the edges of its makers' own creative envelope but exploring known ground extremely well.

Errors have never sounded more magnificent.
  3. Oct 29, 2012

Thrifty, perhaps--hey, these are austere times!--but Errors' evocation of eighties pop, tricked out with post-rock structures, is fresh and exciting.

It's certainly fresh but, lamentably, it fails to rival the progression seen on previous releases that grabbed the listener's attention.

At once sprawling and implosive, New Relics is simply just a relic for fans and other curious parties who want to plunge headfirst into this cascading and widescreen sound with a clutch of some great songs; the rest of it being little more than filler.
