    I just listened to instrumentals and I admit they had the ability to shape a complete album needless to any kinda vocals. he has achieved perfection in trap music, now I'm waiting for more experimental and only-instrumental albums from him next time.

    'Not All Heroes Wear Capes' erects Metro Boomin to the status of master producer. We clearly could see it coming from 'Without Warning' but no half measures Metro progressed a lot between these two projects. instrumental versions of the tracks are worth their weight in gold. I would have put away the few raggaeton-like songs but they prove the interest of Young Metro goes way further than'Not All Heroes Wear Capes' erects Metro Boomin to the status of master producer. We clearly could see it coming from 'Without Warning' but no half measures Metro progressed a lot between these two projects. instrumental versions of the tracks are worth their weight in gold. I would have put away the few raggaeton-like songs but they prove the interest of Young Metro goes way further than rap and trap. In addition to giving us a huge musical slap in the face and a lesson for all trap producers, Metro Boomin shows us his ability to surround himself with the most fashionable singers of the moment. This contributes to make 'Not All Heroes Wear Capes' a very particular recording that will have its own place on the great shelf of classics. However, by being surrounded by all these artists, Metro unfortunately bias the album, putting voices (sometimes great, beautiful, inspiring and suitable, but occasionally fake, inadequate, or outside the main idea of the project concept) on his excellent and personal work. Consequently the album saddly seems to belong less to him and to be the fruit of his creativity.
    We can warmly salute the huge help of the experienced Travis Scott (who appears in no less than five tracks) and who truly contributes to give to 'Not All Heroes Wear Capes' its production, lyrical and vocal consistency.    … Expand

    Metro Boomin's production throughout the project is nearly perfect, but many of the performances from the performers leave much to leave desired.

    Not All Heroes Wear Capes is in the overall a decent album, with lots of good beats and good mixing. However, the album provides a load of tracks which kind of disenchant the expectations on the mood of the album. The two beginning tracks left me satisfied a lot, but is followed by songs which sound quite weak if compared to hits like the previously mentioned 10AM/Save the World andNot All Heroes Wear Capes is in the overall a decent album, with lots of good beats and good mixing. However, the album provides a load of tracks which kind of disenchant the expectations on the mood of the album. The two beginning tracks left me satisfied a lot, but is followed by songs which sound quite weak if compared to hits like the previously mentioned 10AM/Save the World and Overdue, or bangers like No Complaints. I appreciated the soft mood of Lesbian, or the sad one in No More, but didn’t feel the same about those reggaeton tracks in the second part of the album.     Not All Heroes Wear Capes is a pretty cohesive listen for a producer-guided album, but it's not fire from front to back.

    This was my favorite metro album till heroes and villains dropped, with awesome artists in the feature and no one notable miss this album is very enjoyable and a very easy listening experience to non hip hop listeners.

    For a producer who’s produced songs for a who’s who of modern artists (including the occasional non-rapper like Lana Del Rey), he mostly sticks to his guns on his debut album, which applies to both the sonics (there was no way any producer sampling Annie’s “Anthonio”--the Berlin Breakdown version--was going to be bad; that’s the ear-worming sample doing all the heavy-lifting on “Overdue”) and the features.

    The beats Metro cooked up for this one were top notch throughout, adding some refreshing sounds to the current trap landscape. With retirement in the rearview mirror and a 21 Savage album on the horizon, Not All Heroes Wear Capes solidifies the return of one of this era’s most trusted producers.
