EduardoOFeb 10, 2010Most consistent Hot Chip album to date. It's quite a grower.

-
LeahTFeb 9, 2010Easily their best album, and a definite grower.

-
ChrisPFeb 16, 2010This band gets more sophisticated with each release. it's not as instantaneous as their earlier work, but it's more rewarding.

-
BrandonD.Feb 21, 2010Possibly my favorite HC record to date. It may not have the club thumpin' hits of their earlier records, but it's their most consistent.

JonathanWFeb 10, 2010Much more mellow than previous Hot Chip Albums, but still great.

OliverCFeb 11, 2010The best hot chip album in my opinion. I imagine many people will feel disappointed that it isn't so dance friendly and full of club singles as their earlier stuff, but people in that category really ought to go about this album from a different perspective and embrace the honesty and love. Cut copy only has one peer.

VillainousFaceFeb 12, 2010Amazing record. Not a perfect one but close. Definitely one of the best albums of the year.

Aug 23, 2010This is the most surprising, cohesive, and dare I say best of all the Hot Chip records. If you are expecting previous Hot Chip wackiness you will be in for a surprise. Have an open mind and this record will reward you.
-
HakonHFeb 14, 2010A much more subtle and evolved Hot Chip then before. But you can still hear them paying tribute to their Nerdy-dance-pop roots on this love-filled and sweet release.

ClifCFeb 10, 2010Nos as great as "Made In The Dark", there are less standout tracks, but it will still please electronic-lovers brains. Standout tracks: "Thieves In The Night", "I Feel Better" and "We Have Love".

Jan 16, 2012Excellent record. These guys don't get half the recognition they deserve. The more you listen the more you get back from this album. Highly recommended.

TobyHFeb 13, 2010For once, I agree with NME's rating! I like this album a lot, some very good tracks, especially I Feel Better and the title track. In short, 7 killer, 3 filler (Hand Me Down Your Love, Brothers, Slush). Better than Made In The Dark, not as good as The Warning.

-
PeterBFeb 13, 2010There are still fillers such as slush and Brothers - Hot Chip seem to still lack a little consistency on their albums.

CarlSFeb 10, 2010There's a good review of this album here: http://thedailyauration.blogspot.com/ The blog reviews a new album every day, and Hot Chip is today's.

BrentG.Feb 10, 2010Very inconsistent record. With that said, several gems, but too many stinkers in here.

-
C.R.Feb 16, 2010With most Hot Chip albums, I find a few songs that I love, and a few that I hate. This album is no exception. There's a few great songs and mostly poor, forgettable ones.

This is an imbalanced record, and one that leaves you frustrated rather than elated. But despite the blips, they have dished up at least two cerebral bangers here.
-
They’re not badly written songs, but as the band contentedly set sail towards genteel Robert Wyatt-esque pop-soul balladry, fans might be left back on the shore wondering what happened to the idiosyncratic Hot Chip they fell in love with.
-
One Life Stand feels English in the best possible sense: it's cosmopolitan, unassuming and ever-so-slightly eccentric.
