I rate this a 3. Planet Her is complete and utter sh!t with the exception of the track "Get into It (Yuh)". All the other songs were hypers3xual garbage, but a lot of her songs are like that. Decent, but nowhere near as fun or ambitious as Hot Pink. Doesn’t have the “magic” that songs like, “Juicy”, “Say So” and “Like That” have.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This album is definitely a grower. Hot Pink took FOREVER to grow on me but when it did it hit like THAT. Hot Pink is viral hits back to back. The tracks on this album are just... there. As a full album, it's tough to listen to. It's best when listening to individual tracks or on shuffle. There's this strange producer tag on like five songs that gets super annoying after a while. The chorus on Love To Dream doesn't even sound like her. Is someone else singing on that? It's giving Ashanti on JLo's tracks teas. Many of the songs are generic and sound like 2013-2016 music. That's not really a bad thing though. The melodies and personality in the lyrics remind me of early 2010s pop girls. Another point to mention, the mixing on this album is much better than Hot Pink.

Favorite tracks: Woman, Tonight, You Right, Ain't S**t, I Don't Do Drugs, Need To Know
Least favorite tracks: Get Into It (Yuh), Payday, Been Like This, Alone, Love To Dream

Masterpiece. I just love how versatile Doja is with her music seamlessly going from one genre to the next. I put a lot of expectations on the album, I ended up being disappointed. But I really liked 'Love To Dream' and 'woman'.

This album gives the impression to explore several times, rather several Planet. Planet Her is an excellent album that will transport you, even if you are not a fan of rap, pop, reggaeton or rnb, give this album a chance.
    Definitely the AOTY for me.

Some of her best work in my opinion. All the songs are good in their own and they’re even stronger together in one album. Her vocals, lyricism, flow and clever worldplay make this work a masterpiece. The features only add to the songs, with some of the standouts being Ariana Grande and JID. Overall a great LP that Doja is definitely getting multiple viral hits out of.

Doja Cat brings her own flavour into the world with 'Planet Her'. Listening to this album makes me feel like living in Doja's planet, a colourful, full-mouthed intense planet.

'Alone' is definitely the highlight of the album. Realising that the partner by your side ain't what you need, forcing what should be natural and make peace with being alone is a journey itself. 'Need to Know'

fantastic album. this album defined 2021 and throughout is just really great. a huge highlight is “been like this”, the moody r&b track deserves all of the flowers that it gets. another highlight is “love to dream”, it’s a very cute dreamy trap song.

Planet Her proves that Doja Cat is extremely talented. In each song, her delivery was on point, whether she's cruising through melodic hooks or spitting bars with a forceful energy that is sorely lacking missing in this era of "mumble rap." A genuine singer/rapper is hard to come by nowadays, and I don't count rappers who learned how to auto-tune their mediocre singing. A genuine singer/rapper is hard to come by nowadays, and I don't count rappers who learned how to auto-tune their mediocre singing. Now, this album definitely uses auto-tune, but it's not distracting because Doja Cat clearly doesn't need it to sing well.

However, the lyrics keep this album from being truly great. A few songs midway through the album certainly helped, especially those featuring Ariana Grande and The Weeknd. "Alone" and "Kiss Me More" were also good, but the rest of the album is held back by lot of lazy, disinteresting songwriting. Like I mentioned earlier, Doja Cat is very talented, and her spot-on delivery leaves these songs listenable, but it doesn't eliminate the problem.

Although Doja Cat shows more consistency on Planet Her, there's still handfuls of bad production, writing, and vocal choices.

Planet Her maintains the versatility that Doja’s Hot Pink performances hinted at, but it all hinges on her knack for a singalong chorus, and fits cohesively in our ever-diversifying pop landscape. The result, while not terribly profound, is an album full of bulletproof bops, with the help of some well-chosen star collaborators.

It’s smart at points, silly at others, often musically unremarkable, occasionally pure pop gold and easily listenable without providing significant satisfaction for more than ten to fifteen minutes after the act of consumption.

Maybe not every song here is as fully-realized as her best material, and maybe there are a few too many slow-moving ballads – but this doesn’t lessen just how delightful Planet Her ends up as a whole. It’s the type of pop album there should be more of: both playful and psychedelic, rich in intelligent production, and filled with charismatic and chameleonic performances.
