AlexBNov 12, 2006If it wasn't for Britney's money, would we even be rating this album? Even when her talentless career is in hiatus, she still finds a way to ensure that America is subjected to awful "music". Pitiful.
-
-
CedricJNov 12, 2006The best album from a KFC assistant manager turned back-up dancer turned husband to white trash turned rapper turned WWF star you'll hear this year!
-

-
DoctorFunkNov 14, 2006K. Fed struck it rich by marrying Britney, and he strikes gold on this classic album.
-
-
MisterBNov 14, 2006Federline gives voice to men struggling under the strain of sudden marriage and fatherhood. His rhymes are the psyche of Middle America manifest, and are just as real to those living in a McMansion or a double-wide. An impressive debut.

-
B.BaulsNov 17, 2006This is the first time an album has actually made me laugh so hard I woke up sore the next day. Doctors should prescribe this album to people suffering from clinical depression. Then again, it just might make you want to kill yourself.
-
-
RickRNov 17, 2006Well... it's not that bad. Not that's it's any good either. Kind of enjoyable but the novelty quickly wears off. Looking for dumb celebrity music? Might as well try Paris Hilton's album which is a whole lot better and nicer to listen to.
-
-
josemaNov 18, 2006i can't believe this guy got a record deal. This is a true example about how music has hit rock bottom nowadays. i hope mr. federline reconsiders about trying to become a ''rapper''. give us a break!
-
-
honestpolicyNov 20, 2006so bad that no one should ever have to suffer through this garbage. if you are EVEN considering it- death will be more fun... and cooler.
-
-
SoFedNov 20, 2006Jaw-dropping song after jaw-dropping song, Mr. Federline delivers the smooth rhymes which one day will be the standard of all true Hip Hop. The first true classic of the Millenium.
-
-
bobpNov 22, 2006Not that bad - I give it a 1. It's got a moment or two in there... It's a phenomenon of sorts.. but, really Britney's cR@p got produced - why not his?

-
THEDAAAWG!Nov 23, 2006yo yo yo, this album is the shit, y'alL! K. Fed is bustin' rhymes like a motherf***!
-
-
NickYNov 23, 2006Those positive user reviews sound so sincere and heartfelt...not. It's sad that anyone would even bother paying people to astroturf for this pathetic record.
-
-
SteveLNov 24, 2006I didn't listen to this.
-
-
TufLuvTopgradingNov 25, 2006K-Fed: The Comeback Kid. Despite troubles at home and enough distractions to keep Madonna out of Kabbalah class, Federline somehow manages to piece together an admirable set of songs on "Playing With Fire". I don't know what direction his sophomore effort will take us, but I'm excited to find out.
-
-
IanNov 27, 2006Well, after having the bravery to listen to one track while occupied, the other two I could not get through. The beats sounded like garbage and his lyrical flow was like mixing molasses and oil with water. He should be banned from trying to rap.....PERMANENTLY!
-
-
dandersonNov 29, 2006this guy shouldve shot himself for even considerin releasin dat damn album
-
-
mikeDec 13, 2006I have never heard so many complex flows coming from one man, this guy is a real virusou with the mic, sure the beats are not perfect, but KF seamlessly overshadows the bad with his complex rymes and flows. If there was one hip/hop album to buy this year, buy Ghostface Killahs Fishscale
-
-

SpockDec 26, 2006Don't be fooled by these haters! This Album reeks of genius. I've never heard such an amazing flow. The beats are straight wicked. After listening to the CD i felt like i knew where K-Fed was coming from. The haters are not real hip hop fans, because anyone who knows hip hop can see this mans talent. I cant wait for the new CD.
-
-
BrittanySpearsDec 26, 2006WHAT A BUM. This record isn't just the worst record of all time, it's made by the worst singer and rapper of all time. Don't get me wrong, I already think rap is the dumbest style of music, it's just that Federline makes it so much worse. He should do a reverse-Jackson and dye himself black because he ain't going nowhere white. The ABSOLUTE WORST cd ever put
-
-
naissuryDec 27, 2006I'm sorry. This is not music, this is sh*t. Do NOT buy this CD, for christ's sake! There are more "sophisticated ways" to waste your money!
-

TomDec 6, 2006Oh these bad reviews are just because people don't like him. The album isn't that bad and is kind of catchy! Take a listen and forget he is Ex-Mr.Spears

ixataNov 15, 200710 for the reviews that gave this a 0. i could make a book of the world's funniest quotes out of them. oh and for K-Fed's sake, i'll help promote his album by giving them out free along with my soon-to-be published book of these reviews. or give them to orphans... no it wont be a good idea. it would be a sin to torture them more.

KevinFMar 29, 2007I put a lot of effort and hard work into this album, and just because of who I am I get crap for it. This ain't right, if I was Jay-Z, y'all would think these songs was dope.

WillimSApr 29, 2007This album exemplifies the belief that it white people can't rap.
-
-
RFMay 27, 2007This guy suprisingly has good beats and he still manages to fuck up the album with lame ass lyrics and a voice that sounds like he's mentally disabled. I hope he actually does play with fire so that this dumbass would get third-degree burns and hopefully die.
-
-
JohnnyL.May 28, 2007awful, just awful
-
-
jasont.May 28, 2007sucks fucking ass, but i'd rather listen to kfed than fort minor and linkin park. linkin park should've got the extreme disgust rating too, as well as a less than 0 rating.

K-FEDJul 24, 2007The record of the decade.
-
-
ShaneHJul 31, 2007Lose Control has a halfway decent beat and is actually listenable if you remain objective. However the video is ridiculous and he is obviously trying to hard to be cool. I would be very dissapointed in his producers and PR people if I were him. I give him a "4" for the effort; yes, I am generous.
-
-
MariahK.Mar 18, 2008Absolutely TERRIBLE.
-
-
FatTonyApr 24, 2008The sound of me taking a shit after eating a rancid, maggot infested pile of week-old burritos would sound better than this f*cktard's album. Metacritic should be ashamed for not having the option to give minus infinity points for garbage like this.
-
-
JoelSApr 28, 2008The complex production stands up to Neptunes' pinnacle work. The tight rhyme schematic set forth by Eminem is combined with the intellectual lyrical depth of Sage Francis, This is an unforgettable achievement in white hip-hop.
-
-
ShaneV.May 13, 2008The absolute worst piece of garbage.
-
-
D.S.Sep 19, 2009I would rather carve my entrails out with a rusty spoon and then slit my throat, than listen to this guy. Has anyone noticed how even MC dissed him in the summary? --- Kevin, please kill yourself if youre so damn upset about that slu-- *ahem*, don't insult us with these abominations.

-
JoeNov 11, 2006Well, you know what they say...when you play with fire, you're bound to get burned. In other words, if you listen to this album, your soul will suffer third-degree burns. Congratulations, KFed. You've made the worst album these ears have ever heard. Compared to this guy, Fred Durst is Tupac and Vanilla Ice is Biggie Smalls.
-
-
RogerBNov 11, 2006Y'all just hating on KFed! If anyone actually listened to this album, theyd know he CAN rap, and that he's not goin anywhere! Critics just hate on him cuz they wish they could marry Britney!
-
-
ChrisWNov 12, 2006Terrible... as bad as Diddy's new album. All right maybe that's not fair to K-Fed... as bad as Flavor Flav's is more like it.
-
-
JimRNov 12, 2006Kevin Federline is the apotheosis of the American Dream, and his unapologetic paeans to hedonism come at a most opportune time. Could K-Fed be the next great warrior-poet? If the sequel to Playing With Fire manages to maintain the momentum he establishes here, then I'd be surprised to see him fail.
-
-
TimHNov 12, 2006I'm giving this a 10 because, well, in some strange way I feel sorry for the guy. It's just *too* easy to kick this guy when he's down. So there! 10! 10! Bravo! Encore!

AdrianRNov 25, 2006The fact that this CD can get ratings greater than 5/10 from more than just fluke and drunkenness is statistical proof that one can never trust what any human critic says ever again.

-
Dec 6, 2010This is the best album ever. Hip Hop pioneers like Run DMC and Nas should be ashamed that they can't match the flabbergasting, genuine production and mouth watering, witty, absorbing lyrics of K-Fed's universally praised album. His sharp flow and quick rhymes would destroy any candy rappers in a rap battle. Go K-Fed!
-

Go Back To Britney! -
Aug 1, 2012Uuuuuuuuuggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. You **** I hate you, you make me wanna give Lil **** Wayne an award entitled I'm better than Kevin Federline
-
Jul 29, 2021It's only good if you listen to it ironically. The beats obviously weren't produced by K-Fed himself and they're the best aspect of the album. All of the songs are amateur trash.

The worst thing about Playing with Fire is that it's too stale and inept to inspire laughter: it can only elicit weary groans.
-
BillboardIn general, Federline enunciates well. [11 Nov 2006]
-
Other rappers might hesitate to brag about marrying into bling, but Federline isn't self-conscious about it.
