Wow, haven't been blown away like this by an album in some time. Definitely my kind of music, there's not much to say this album in my opinion is just simply a Masterpiece.

An even more theatrical, chaotic and haunting take on an already perfect soundtrack. Initially I thought covering or "remaking" Angelo Badalamenti's beautiful score would be pointless, but i was proved wrong. Xiu Xiu manages to take the source material in a different, much darker direction, that reminded me of Akira Yamaoka's style in his Silent Hill scores. I still prefer the original,An even more theatrical, chaotic and haunting take on an already perfect soundtrack. Absolutely terrifying album, on every track Xiu Xiu is able to create extreme tension. Jamie's vocals are great on this album. I just wish his vocals appeared on some of the instrumental tracks, otherwise than that this is a great record.

Truly a testament as to the emotions you can provoke with mostly only instrumentals.

A respect for the original material is clear throughout, and the emotional power of Badalamenti's tunes is identified and played up wonderfully.

In evoking Lynch and Badalamenti, Xiu Xiu have made one of their most beautiful and listenable albums, one that highlights everything the band does well while shaving down the rough edges that often turn away foes and friends alike.

Xiu Xiu Plays the Music of Twin Peaks is a dense album that seems at its best when it sticks to Badalamenti’s template, filling up nostalgia for the show with acoustic intimacy and emotional affect.
