Hey..After a few very clinical albums Plaid are back to a sound that reminds of Rest Proof Clockwork and Double Figure....back to their Black Dog days even...as it sound a lot like Trainer too...I REALLY love it. Easy to listen to and addictive yet still really smart. To sums it up it's better when they leave Autechre sound to Autechre. With Polymer what we've got is 100% Plaid and as i saidHey..After a few very clinical albums Plaid are back to a sound that reminds of Rest Proof Clockwork and Double Figure....back to their Black Dog days even...as it sound a lot like Trainer too...I REALLY love it. Polymer's best parts show a keen balance of emotional and technical qualities. ... Still, Polymer gets soft roughly midway.

Polymer is a summation of everything that puts Plaid rightfully on the same level of their innovative peers like Autechre, Boards of Canada and Two Lone Swordsmen. Creating worlds at once hermetic and immersive, Plaid’s music ticks along at a human level and envelops you in a protective, provocative cocoon.

It’s a relief to state that their new album Polymer is very much Plaid’s best album this decade, and at least their best since 2008’s Heaven’s Door.
