To reach a state of bliss on holidays I get a drink, lay in the sun, looking over the ocean and play Within and Without in my headphones. I have this album the same treatment and it had the same effect. Love it.

Washed out fans will love this album. There are a couple of tracks that don’t hit as hard as others, but overall I really am feeling this. I don’t understand all of the negative reviews, but such is life.

Probably would've been better suited a decade ago during peak-chillwave, and is a significant step back from Mister Mellow. It's both dreamy and dreary.

Crazily underrated album. Best of the year. It transplants you and nothing could be more desirable during 2020.

This album couldn’t have come at a better time. Summer time escapism at its finest. Throwback WO sound for sure but w/ some new instrumental experimentation. One of my favorite albums of 2020 for sure!

Solid, chill, and ethereal album. Feels like a modern version of Sade. Love it. Paralyzed, Reckless Desires, and Too Late are absolutely fantastic.

Solid new entry from Ernest. Great singles and always has that Washed Out vibe from early albums. Highlights: Time to Walk Away, Paralyzed and Too Late

A very solid album from Washed Out. Though it feels derivative at times... it’s still beautiful music from the chillwave god himself. It slaps.

Do me a solid.. go outside and pop this album on while the sun sets.. sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Too Late, Time to Walk Away, Paralyzed, and Haunt are all exceptional tracks.

A bit of a grower but well worth the repeated listens. Deceivingly lush, supremely serene, booming bass and decent hooks are found throughout the album. "Haunt" in particular is spot on.

Love this album! Really just got into this band about a year or so ago and when this album came out I’ve listened to it almost daily since. I definitely recommend this album very relaxing and groovy!

Even if the album's sonic template doesn't stray too far from his 2011 breakthrough debut LP Within You Without You, Greene chooses to keep the mood so light that it's practically inert.

Purple Noon isn't the mindless bliss of programmed Spotify algorithm music but the comfort of hanging out with an old friend.

The chillwave movement has always channeled nostalgia—warm echoes of a distant past, faded and warped into a new aesthetic. Purple Noon, though, mostly just elicits nostalgia for the glory days of chillwave itself.
