    [Royal Headache] strikes with a rugged fury that throws the Goner Records vault straight into Sam Cooke's Harlem Square Club. It's a sock hop in tattered T-shirts.

    Royal Headache's debut begins in a pounding, pummeling riff-based rampage, all double-timed guitar strumming and frantic one-two drumming. "Never Again," the lead off track, runs as fast and hard and ragged as any punk anthem, taking the corners with two wheels off the ground.

    This is a sugar-spiked head-rush of a record that will undoubtedly rank as one of the best punk releases of 2012 and have people buzzing about this band for quite a while. Royal Headache is an absolute joy to listen to all the way through and hopefully signals the start of great things for the young band.
