On this nearly two-hour long album, Kali features one of the best drone-organ music recordings I've ever heard. Depending on your mood, this album won't satisfy you, but when you're open to listening to a long and ethereal organ-laden album, "Sacrificial Code" will be your best bet.

All songs are unique, amazing and extremely well executed. The compositions are incredibly beautiful, something that is already common in Kali's albums. All of this makes you trapped in a deep state of peace, and when you least expect it, the one hour and forty-six minutes of the album went by like five minutes.

Malone draws the listener into the unique interior timbre of the pipe organ, like the idling breath of a large machine at rest; a music of worship, where the object of spiritual veneration is the inner space of the instrument itself. [Oct 2019, p.89]

This engrossing hour-and-three-quarter work pursues long-form drones at the pipe organ in a way that is both hypnotic and uplifting. [Oct 2019, p.30]

By simultaneously disavowing and embracing the church, Malone has crafted a record of rare heft. The plaintive melodies that sit at the core of The Sacrificial Code often feel like they're stretching into eternity.
