This is easily one of the best albums I have ever listened to. It took me some time to fully appreciate this since V V Brown's music style changed a lot, but now I totally adore it. The album is much darker than its predecessor, melodies are more complicated and vocals are much stronger and distinctive.

Very different to her first album, and I personally feel not as good or as catchy. However, the songs on this that grab your attention do so very well and the lyrics and melodies are very thought provoking and pleasant to listen to.

One of the best albums of 2013, no doubt. Up there with The Electric Lady and Tales of Us. There isn't one track that isn't worth listening to--though the definite highlights are Knife, Warrior, I Can Give You More and The Apple.

Ultimately you're listening to an increasingly original singer and songwriter. [Oct 2013, p.98]

Samson & Delilah is a brave work of art.

Samson & Delilah casts the English singer and songwriter even further afield, a mesmerizing right turn into the murky waters of throbbing R&B and ambient dance pop.
