Some of the most wild, inventive hip hop production I've heard in a while. JPEGMAFIA & Dany Brown make a killer duo and I truly hope we get more crazy projects from them.

After a year of waiting, a year in the making, and my anticipation raised to the highest degree, this album was not only worth the wait, but also completely destroyed my expectations. I have not heard an album yet this year that took everything that makes an album, production, lyrics, cohesiveness, replay ability, and ramp it up to the highest. I have not heard an album yet this year that took everything that makes an album, production, lyrics, cohesiveness, replay ability, and ramp it up to the highest. Some of the best instrumentals on this album are top notch. Burfict, the incredible horns and hard hitting trap drums make me want to destroy the world. But its not always hype, it reflects every human emotion in the book. Garbage Pale Kids has one the most unsettling beats that makes me want to squirm, and yes it did. God Loves You is easily my favorite tune on this entire album. The hard hitting base, the insanely catchy sample flip, the apsolutely mindblowing drumwork, Dannys performance? It's all top notch.

One of the best albums of the current decade, and although it is no easy feet, it might be my favorite Jpegmafia album so far in his career, unbelievably beating All My Heroes Are Cornballs.

    10/10.

A little messy, but that's the point I suppose as well. At least they are finding ways to make tracks that sound unlike much anything else out there. Kinda has that Fantastic Damage era El-P vibe. And they have an easy chemistry that makes most the tracks work better than maybe they should.

Peggy's production here is creative and although his distinctively odd, glitchy style of beat-making is on display the beats are simultaneously his most catchy and easy listening yet.

Both Peggy and Danny's rapping is on point and the pair have great chemistry. The lyrical content is not particularly meaningful or dense but the album is filled with good one-liners and funny bars. There

Both Peggy and Danny's rapping is on point and the pair have great chemistry. The lyrical content is not particularly meaningful or dense but the album is filled with good one-liners and funny bars. There are no skips here which is unsurprising when you look at the consistency and quality of both artists' discographies.

I'm not sure yet if I consider Scaring The Hoes the best work of both artists but right now it's my favourite project from both. This is organised chaos in the best possible way and we'll be lucky to see a better hip-hop release this year.

This is a fun rollercoaster which will pin JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown as one of the most, if not the most, authentic, creative, dynamic and interesting producers of Hip Hop of our times. "SCARING THE HOES" is the definitive project to get to know the potential of JPEG has in hands as musicbender. More of this, please!

Some of both Danny and Peggy's best work, their energy and strengths work perfectly together over inventive but still hard hitting production. Incredible front to back.

Peggy meets Danny Brown, and what do you get? Near perfection, that's what. The samples are so creative, the flows are so intriguing, ugh. Really really really good. I expect nothing less from JPEGMAFIA.

Fortunately that art is unbelievably fucking dope, and that's mostly because of the significant drawcard of this production: the production. ... There is a level of hip-hop reflexivity here that I haven't heard since RTJ4.

On Scaring The Hoes, Brown and Peggy sound great together while offering few artistic revelations. [May 2023, p.52]
