All swelling organs, Teutonic strings and scathing political diatribes delivered in her winsome, insouciant vocal style.

Sadier's glorious voice could easily cover-up a multitude of sins, but it doesn't have to on Silencio because this is a great collection of songs.

Musically, songs are altogether pleasant, ranging from languid to downright danceable, with undercurrents of the German art pop that influenced much of the 'Lab's sound.

This record does indeed feel like a natural continuation of Sadier's previous body of work.

It's a bright, pretty album, so much so that it may surprise when the lyrics come into focus and reveal Sadier's concerns.

Contrary to the urgency of the title, Silencio! is more intermission than showstopper. [No.89, p.59]

These songs are all, for the most part, perfectly adequate, but we've heard better and stronger songs from Sadier before. It's not so much a sucker punch as a blunt disappointment from an artist who we know can do so much better.
