A single note, on which jon builds the entire composition, starts a journey through a dark intertwined path that unravels in the middle of a cosmic wood until the reaching of purification and the return to the original tone.

Hopkins uses his dancefloor nous, classical background and meditative training to beguile us. It's a beautiful bastard of a record. [

One of the best modern electronic album and arguably the best electronic album of 2018. If you like electronic music you can’t miss it

I must start by saying that I am a big fan. But this record is simply stellar. Exceptional arrangements and crazy sounds!

Thumpy, intense, and strikingly powerful at points, ethereal, tranquil, and beautifully pacifying at others, sometimes both at once. I loved this album on the first listen but it's grown on me a lot since. One of the best records of all time for me.

____ After listening to the album, it seems that during these five years of a creative break, John Hopkins discovered some new streams of the universe that he had rethought, he turned into electronic sounds and put into 9 tracks "Singularity".

This album is sublime. Each sound is so meticulously crafted and filled with raw feeling. Compared to other genres, electronic music can sometimes feel cold or detached, but not with this album. Its hard to find anything about this album particularly original or memorable. Jon is playing with sounds that have been done so many times before in so many ways; but at least he does it well.

The best electronic music album I've listened to in a long time (since Moderat III). The album has to be listened to from start to end as it is like getting on board Jon's spaceship and going for a ride looking through the window while he drives like a god into those beautiful worlds.
And I take no drug whatsoever.

Singularity is hard to describe. It has to be listened. It has some peaks here and there, especially when Hopkins put the focus on the melody and not the beat.

I'm a big fan of John's previous albums. and especially Immunity's Abandon Windows a special song that I will carry with me forever (funeral song for my brother and Father)

And then comes Singularity along..... Emerald Rush YES. A pure rush that fills you with so many positive feelings. No, no drugs needed for this 100% pure.

Yes I can only quote Pitchfork " John is playing God"

After an album ''Immunity'', ''Singularity'' is another Jon Hopkins's triumph. It has brilliant opening with ''Singularity'' (first highlight on an album), continues with an excellent ''Emerald Rush'' and closes with a second highlight on an album ''Everything Connected,'' a psychedelic techno anthem that evokes similar stuff, a ''Collider'' from the album ''Immunity''. This album feels like a cold breeze on a summernight. It is clear, bold and beautiful altogether. One of the best electronic albums I've listened to.

Singularity is the ultimate proof of Hopkins evolution and maturity, going for an even grander sound than his previous LP, being more than 60 minutes long, Singularity is an epic mix of techno and ambient, resulting in one of the best electronic albums of the decade (in my opinion).

This is an album to invest time and focus into. After the heady beginning, "Emerald Rush" gives a momentary rest before settling into a wonderful groove.

A comparable transition on Singularity, between "Everything Connected" and "Feel First Life," is made to feel seamless, less like a change in circumstance than an ascent onto some higher plane. Some will feel completely immersed in that; others might simply admire it from a distance.
