  1. Like label mates Aphex and Autechre, this all amounts to something of a tough listen, though it is tracks like "Sixnot6" and "Distracted2" which really reward the listener willing to wade through the bleak atmospherics.
  2. An hour of delicately portentous electronics that are not so much haunting as haunted, each sonic element sneaking upon another and spooking it out.

Skimskitta's refusal or lack of ability to move beyond sketchy hisses and glitches makes for a too sprawling, too unfocused affair.
  4. This is an ambitious album that aims high but falls short.

Mood music in extremis. [Apr 2003, p.110]
  6. The album’s beauty lies largely in its simplicity, but so too does its weakness.
