    Love this album. Brilliant lyrics. Haunting melodies. "Georgia" "Smoke Signals" "Killer" ... highly recommended.

    Simply put, this is an excellent but straightforward female singer songwriter album. Phoebe Bridgers nails this currently quite crowded genre on her debut without being overly extraordinary, groundbreaking or inspirational. Lyrically, she is excellent, in terms of tunes, they are understated; good without being exceptionally grabbing. Not quite at the top table with this record but betterSimply put, this is an excellent but straightforward female singer songwriter album. Phoebe Bridgers nails this currently quite crowded genre on her debut without being overly extraordinary, groundbreaking or inspirational. Lyrically, she is excellent, in terms of tunes, they are understated; good without being exceptionally grabbing. Not quite at the top table with this record but better and more mature than most of the work being done by her peers. It could do with a little more fun and a little less weight. This is an album that lays solid foundations on which to build what is going to be a great career.… Expand

    i don’t often give albums a 9 but this is a fantastic album, complete with incredibly affecting lyrics and beautiful melodies. thank you phoebe. this is truly a gift.

    Love this project and its storytelling. the first few songs are amazing, and the songs in the middle dip down a little bit, but are soon redeemed by the last few tracks on the album. My favourite tracks on this album are Funeral, Demi Moore, Would You Rather, and You Missed My Heart.

    Easily my most played album since its release. Every song is just *chefs kiss*. I vent see myself ever getting bored of it

    One of the best albums I’ve ever listened to, the emotions it conjures, the impeccable writing and instrumentals not to mention Bridgers’ haunting vocals.

    wonderful album. eventhough i’m not really into indie music, this unbelievably suprised me. not just her perfect lyrics or melodies, but breathtaking production is what blown my mind. however, album may get a bit repetetive at the end. still, this is my favorite record at the moment. congrats phoebe! :)

    Compelling, emotional, touching… such a gem of an album. Her voice is marvelous and every song is a highlight of a wonderful album

    definitivamente um dos meus álbuns favoritos. cada música é uma experiência diferente, uma emoção única, a sonoridade da obra é insana. phoebe bridgers soube executar muito bem a criação do stranger in the alps.

    Front-loaded with a trio of deceptively powerful singles ("Smoke Signals," "Motion Sickness," and "Funeral"), the ten-track set loses some focus near the end, but Bridgers remains such a compelling presence throughout, that even her less immediate material bears weight.

    As befits songs of mortality, yearning and loss, the tempo never really rises above a mild trot, with just the catchy chorus and crunchy guitar on Motion Sickness hinting at it being a breakthrough hit. Yet the downbeat atmosphere and fragile arrangements only serve to accentuate Bridgers’ strong, distinctive voice.
