Feb 13, 2020An album that recognizes writing about love doesn't have to conform to a tidy narrative to be authentically moving.
-
MojoFeb 13, 2020They're five albums in and they keep getting better and better. [Mar 2020, p.91]
-
Feb 14, 2020Thanks to the life the duo breathed into the album with their dedication and passion, Swimmer should keep fans on their toes for sure.
-
Feb 14, 2020Parts of Swimmer may have been born of adversity, but Riley and Moore come up shining in the end.
-
Mar 13, 2020Swimmer and a few other songs hint at what could have been, only to have the other half of the album play it safe. If only more of Tennis' songs took risks on unexpected palettes of emotion and drew from more complex poetic wells, then they might provide us with something special. Instead, they've created another enjoyable, if a bit rote and predictable album, like a relationship drifting into comfortable and boring domestic habits.
-
Feb 13, 2020Swimmer doesn’t quite reach the peaks of other Tennis albums but is a solid album featuring expertly composed and performed piano pop.
-
Feb 20, 2020Swimmer is mostly sweet and personable. Any listener who’s followed Moore and Riley for five albums running is probably somewhat invested in their relationship, and once again, they’ve rewarded that interest.

Feb 19, 2020Funky, groovy, but doesn't feel trapped in the past in a way albums with this sound often do. Tennis has done it again!
