Incredible piece of work from an incredible musician. Ignore the user reviews, most of them are just angry that *blank* artist doesn't have the highest rated album on metacritic.

I remember when I saw a review for this and it was "It sounded the same". To that, I say... Who cares, really? The album is fantastic, and is a definite listen for anyone who has gotten deep into the jazz sphere like I have. This was a great find. Black Lives Matter. 10/10

It's a good album, but very long winded. Overall this is an enjoyable album.

Jazz still matters to us as music listeners despite Wadada Leo Smith's efforts to continue after the commercial demise of once widely touted Free Jazz. With its comparison to classical this must sound better as post-modernist classical like the Kronos Quartet. Jazz and Classical won't merge as easily as was thought, since Jazz is improvisation based, with blues themes. It is confusing there are so many differences between the hippy and punk era, as well as post-Marsalis. Expand

Have you noticed that this album has pretty negative reviews on it but all the big names gave it 10. Smells like pandering but who knows it might just be not for me. I think it's fine. A bit much but fine.

To be honest, I didn't like it one bit, it's not good enough to have a 99/100 score, it's not bad, but it's not exquisite either, I'd give it a 50/100 score. There are more albums than if they deserve that note.

Objectively it’s very good, but if I’m being honest it’s not my taste.

Not sure why all the high reviews. This album came out in 2012. Didn't see one review on I Tunes. To me, what I listened to, most of it sounded the same. I understand celebrating a movement, but to rate something as the best album for that reason. Again, not even rated high on I Tunes in the jazz category.

Teniendo solo 8 críticas lo convierte en el álbum más aclamado de todos los tiempos es algo patético.

Ten Freedom Summers is his magnum opus; it belongs in jazz's canonical lexicon with Duke Ellington's Black Brown & Beige and Max Roach's Freedom Now Suite.

In this globalised but fragmented world, now so obsessed with immediacy, rapidity and digestibility, Ten Freedom Summers is a visionary work of protest and power.
