  1. For those with more of an ear for intricate soundcraft and matchbox symphonies, The Camel's Back ends up being something far more satisfying and memorable.
  2. It’s fine for a lark, but you can leave the tikis in the attic where they belong.
  3. It's never devoid of expression of interest, and has a colour and charm you'll struggle to find on the airwaves these days. Most of all, it's fun. Pure and simple.
  4. While The Camel’s Back demonstrates a clear progression in Psapp’s worth as songwriters and musicians, it becomes easy to ignore what they accomplish creatively as the ears only pick up on its “cuteness” factor.
  5. Psapp are certainly getting closer to achieving a perfect balance in their sound, and The Camel's Back is certainly lounge jazz of a higher proof than most, but save perhaps 'I Want That,' 'Screws' is the one number here that'd make you put down your drink.
  6. The Camel’s Back is so perfectly judged and crafted, so busy and disparate and yet so harmonious and consistent that it marks a definitely improvement in the duo’s work.
  7. With The Camel's Back, Psapp grows up while successfully eluding categorization in the quest for catchiness.
  8. Tiny Mix Tapes

A little more feeling would have gone a long way towards elevating The Camel’s Back into memorable territory. As it stands, whatever magic the album might have mustered has been smothered in the womb.
  9. Under The Radar

It's nice to hear fresh songs that won't automatically connect an ad-addled brain with Disaronna (yet). [Spring 2009, p.77]
