Feb 22, 2021Totally incredible album, mixes Converge's Jane Doe-era metalcore with sludge and ambient. Practically all of the songs are enjoyable listens, with some being a little bit more forgettable than others. A Single Tear and Reptilian are easily of the best album openers and closers of all time.

Nov 3, 2019Two years after its release, The Dusk In Us still holds up. This band always gives it their all.

Nov 6, 2017Everything and even more you wished for from Converge. It's great addition to their collection of albums. Hard, crushingly heavy, smart, thoughtful and complex.

Nov 3, 2017Converge deserved to be mentioned in the same conversations as artists like Radiohead, Björk and Neurosis. They truly are something else, whether it be in their consistency, raw brutality and energy, or their emotional weight. The Dusk in Us only further solidifies them as one of the greatest metal bands around.

Dec 21, 2017Converge has not been going so much through a process of transformation as one of maturing. Still angry and rebellious as in their early releases, they also display a much wiser and patient perspective that only years of experience can bring.

MagnetNov 21, 2017It's still heavy as fuck, but it's also textural, emotional, diverse and defiant as fuck, too. [No. 148, p.52]

Nov 20, 2017If anything, the songs are more dramatic than ever, making greater use of near-silence and dynamics to underline hooks and refrains.
