This is a sound of a man who is at the pinnacle of his career. His flow and rhyme schemes sound so effortless, yet established. Where The Marshall Mathers LP sounded like a primal howl of rage, The Eminem Show showcases an artist trying to make sense out of the chaos and turmoil in his personal and professional life. Eminem, for the first time comes out not as his alter ego Slim Shady, or his artistic persona but as his true, more mature self. A combination of a wicked, hungry version of the Slim Shady LP to the liberating fearlessness in taking hip-hop left turns and acting the fool while high on the chronic in The Marshall Mathers LP. Eminem has never relied on features too much, and he never had to, his bigger than world persona was always enough. The album features his closest partners: Dr. Dre, D12 and Obie Trice. The album features total of 15 songs and 5 skits. From start to finish, excluding the infamous song “Drips” Eminem continue giving his 100 percent, with each song being as good as or even better than the one before it. The album gave us such Eminem classics as Cleaning out my closet, Without Me, Business, Sing for the moment, and the best gym/hype up song ever: Til’ I Collapse featuring the late legend Nate Dogg. In a few of his songs Eminem is contemplating his life and even death. What would happen if he died after this album dropped? I think that it is safe to say he would be forever established as the GOAT.

The album is a spectacular show fest of rhymes, unstoppable flow, uncensored shots at everyone who even dares to step up to Eminem, and as a matter of fact, he gave us an Idea on why he’s going to stay in the rap game, and keep slaying it. 1999 to 2003 was arguably the biggest run of any artist ever. Eminem took the world by it’s balls and did whatever he wants with it. Sadly, every era must come to an end, and no matter whether you enjoyed Encore or not, The Eminem Show was the last truly great album, which also sort of marked the end of an era of this kind of rap style. However Eminem's music will forever stay within us, and despite all the opinions surrounding his career nowadays, we must give him credit where it's due. After Eminem stepping down, new artists and older well known rap icons came for his crown like: Lil Wayne, DMX, Jay Z, Kanye West

The Eminem show certainly has some historic tunes on it such as 'Without me' and 'Till I Collapse', but the album as a whole doesn't feel like it's Eminem writing at his best. It seems more of a bragging album crossed with a sympathy album, rather than the hard hitting and witty Eminem from The Marshall Mathers LP.

Although this album is still a good album, it could have been so much

The obvious highlights were "'Till I Collapse and " and "Without Me". The former of the 2 is one of my favourite Eminem songs and probably my favourite track featured in this record. I get so excited every time I hear it and feel like I can do anything. The ladder of the two is also one of the catchiest songs I've heard from him. still, the rest of the songs are really solid as well. They're good on their own way. For example songs like "Sing For the Moment" and "When the music stops" are like something out of 8 mile, which I love, and others liek "Say what you say" and "My dad's gone crazy" are things that would fit right in the Slim Shady LP.
Now there are some things I dislike. Some of the tracks get a bit repetitive with the lyricism, but nothing too bad. Something else that bothered me a bit was that the song "Superman" is so out of place in this album, I don't even get why it was a single. Also I really don't like the song "Drips", as that kind of music makes me sick. But that's were most of my negatives end. I am thing a light to decent 8/10.

Eminem's third best album and his last great body of work. Eminem, again, tackles all the issues the audience has known him for; his mother, racial disputes, political issues, and his daughter. Nothing really new here, but Eminem is such a witty lyricist that nothing ever feels like a bore. Mathers is emotionally invested as ever on The Eminem Show.

Slim Shady LP introduced the world to Eminem, a crude, white maniac with exceptional rhyming skills. Marshall Mathers LP gave the world Em's personal side while mixed with comic and satirical content. The Eminem Show is the retrospect of his career. The lyricism is up to par where his fans expected it to be, the wordplay is as fresh as it ever was and the beats are the only thing that makes it beat his previous album, The Marshall Mathers LP. Other great tracks on this CD include Cleaning Out My Closet, where he discuses his rocky relationship with his mother, Debbie Mathers. Sing For The Moment, a song where he talks about how literal his music really is and how he has a responsibility being an entertainer. When the Music Stops, he brings D12 back in again for a visit. This time they discuss how music has influenced every member in the group in this 4:28 epic track. 'Till I Collapse is an incredibly fast-paced and well executed track by Eminem & Nate Dogg. To be perfectly honest, I could talk about how great each song is. Another step forward! Less Slim Shady, which means less fun but also less stupid obscene jokes. Anyway; rap-technically he made his best work up to that time. The way he flows in Superman is actually the best I've ever heard! Awesome rhyming skills, great ambiguities and songs with more substance. Minus 1 point for the songs after 14, except 'Till I Collapse. All in all it's a very goodAnother step forward! Less Slim Shady, which means less fun but also less stupid obscene jokes. Classic album with a little bit of everything. Beats are on point, and eminem's lyrics prove why he is one of the greatest to do it. It's disgusting how a professional critic could rate something like this so low.

This album makes it Eminem's third classic consecutive album, proving to everyone what a rap sensation he really is, destroying his competition lyrically as well as commercially.

THIS IS A Classic Songs Like Without Me, Cleaning Out My Closet, Soldier, Say Goodbye To Hollywood & When The Music Stops. This album beats anything Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie & Tupac has put out

The songs I did like, I really liked. However I hated most of the songs off this album and I dont think it was as good as his previous album was. It was ok though.

In the MMLP, he broke new grounds. In this one, he became the voice of a generation. He spoke to people, rising the average sheltered suburban kid into a Shady forever.

  1. Eminem just may have made the best rap-rock album in history
  2. With each successive album Eminem finds new depth and excitement within the same themes and structures he used way back on The Slim Shady LP, so even if new songs contain earmarks of Eminem classics, they still feel reinvigorated.

Behind the hype and the swagger, he's still baring enough of his soul for The Eminem Show to be compelling theatre. [Aug 2002, p.118]
