I am a lifelong Ted Leo fan, probably have seen him live 7-8 times, so I was super excited for this album. It definitely feels like a solo Ted Leo album, not a "Pharmacists" album. By that I mean, it's a little more personal, a little slower and less rock-forward. Worth a listen!

Hanged Man absorbs the worries of a world (Leo’s and ours) and reflects on it, rolling with the inconsistencies and fractures to make something better.

While there's plenty to like here, and more to admire, he's never made a record quite so challenging to love. [No. 146, p.54]

The Hanged Man is a return to form--not with a whimper but with a bang. It’s just not the bang we expected.
