Unpopular opinion: 'Body Suit' alone makes this album a TEN out of TEN. #Perfection

Undoubtedly, a solid, danceable and captivating album, making it a possible AOTY 2022 winner It's worth giving "Carly Rae Jepsen's Dedicated younger brother" a chance

There is no outstanding track, but it is a decent dance-pop album.

After a long time, Foxes has returned with an album full of synthpop, which is very reminiscent of the works of Carly Rae Jepsen, but not only because of the sound: because of its finesse. The tracklist could have been better, instead of leaving "Too Much Color" at the end, as well as fueling the gay rave energy on the record. Much better than her forgettable second album, but not quite up to the quality of her debut. Overall, an enjoyable, fun effort. Great to see Foxes back.

Best track: "Forgive Yourself" (which should've been a single)

Six years after her last studio album, Foxes is finally back with her third project "The Kick". The album with its dozen pop anthems is light on its feet, energetic and joyful. Louisa Allen (known as Foxes) convinces with catchy hooks, melodies and that certain dance and disco touch.

Although the songs could stand out more from each other, Foxes just doesn't need this versatility,

Although the songs could stand out more from each other, Foxes just doesn't need this versatility, thanks to her melodic and magical sound. And even if "The Kick" is not revolutionary or highly complex, every single song puts you in a good mood.

    My favorites:
    "Sister Ray"
    "Body Suit"
    "Growing on Me"
    "Dance Magic"

A flawless project from the beginning to the end, while it marks Foxes journey to love and healing, it still make us dance through it all. This album may be the “Emotion” of the decade, for sure, reminding not the sound but especially the independence of the songs and growth of the artist.

She's the queen of pop perfection, it's a fact at this point. It's a skipless album.

Foxes latest effort The Kick is an album that comes nearly six years after her sophomore release. The album boast straight-forward club-ready dance music with a twinge of emotion. Comparatively, The Kick sounds almost like a different artist, one that has abandoned much of the qualities that made her distinct. There are some great tracks here, Bodysuit and Too Much Colour being the ones that stood out for me, but the vast majority is dance music without enough gumption or power to make it memorable. Expand

Each half of the album ends with a relatively sudden shift in pace (“Body Suit” and the contrastingly acoustic “Too Much Colour”), and when you’re consistently bopping along to track after track (which does also risk becoming monotonous, I know) it can be a little jarring rather than the breather they intended.

Mature and focused, The Kick is a welcome return from Allen, a refreshing and ebullient collection that balances emotional introspection with pure physical joy.

This is a worthy comeback for the singer that is fun, catchy, bright and ultimately another addition to the canon of necessary, escapist music we need to forget the world’s impending descent into madness.
