The Man With the Iron Fist is not only the best soundtrack of the year, it's one of the year's best albums overall.

There are missteps--Talib Kweli going through the motions on Get Your Way (Sex Is A Weapon), Ghostface's unfortunate pairing with Wiz Khalifa--but like the movie, the soundtrack is good, bombastic fun.

[The album] is full of claustrophobic, boom-bap and Far East mash-up pops. [26 Oct 2012, p.75]

The Man with the Iron Fists soundtrack is certainly an adequate companion piece to the film, and will likely earn a spot in the collection of most Wu diehards. Still, it feels like a missed opportunity for a grand musical statement to further bolster the Wu-Tang legacy as it makes its transition to the silver screen.

The soundtrack is not as evocatively cinematic as the Wu's greatest songs, but it's a tasty mixtape.

The Man With the Iron Fists OST is a strong album and certainly the best Wu-affiliated product since Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II, but it never strives to be awesome. And for a RZA project, that means it can't be great either.

As a Wu-Tang project it is one of the most complete and consistent in the post-Supreme Clientele canon.... Iron Fists is also a compilation that wears its love of Asian cinema on its sleeve.

This soundtrack stands tall in the man's wide-reaching discography, offering fans a Wu-flavored vision of a world where both the damned and cursed still swagger.
