Jan 22, 2016At a relatively spry 62, Maal’s voice retains both upper register strength and youthful clarity.

Jan 19, 2016This won’t go down as one of his classic recordings, but nevertheless The Traveller is an enjoyable journey that shows its narrator still has plenty to say.

Jan 19, 2016Perhaps tracks such as Lampenda veer too far in the direction of accessible arena rock, and the final double whammy (War and Peace) featuring poet Lemn Sissay jars slightly, after Maal’s own dulcet tones. But there are compelling fusions.
