    Initially, the noise is the allure, but subsequent spins reveal these songs are as tightly constructed as those Howard writes for Alabama Shakes and, in some respects, maybe even a little sturdier.

    Thunderbitch does a far better job of capturing Howard as a performer than either of the Alabama Shakes albums have; here, her inimitable, flamboyant voice is given free rein, ably supported by her fellow Thunderbitches. [Dec 2015, p.68]

    Howard yowls about how she's a rock & roll wild child who just doesn't care, even as the surprising amount of craft the band puts into these songs suggests she cares quite a bit.... But it's the looser the better here.
