Nothing very impressive with this album. Meghan is a really talented singer but I don't understand why she keeps doing songs and albums on the same themes and sounds of the first one. She showed us that she's versatile with Me Too and NO but that's all. Treat Myself is a "more of the same" of her last 2 albums and her last EP. Neither bad or good. Just.. ok... I guess. Worth 1 or 2 listenings...

This is one solid pop album from Meghan and filled with bangers with good lyrics.

Meghan delayed this album multiple times and it came out a year later than planned. She said she had started writing the best music of her career and wanted to include it on the album. Well it’s here now and there’s no progression at all. This album sounds almost exactly like her previous albums. The single "Waves" is an amazing song and it really was a new sound for her. I would’ve lovedMeghan delayed this album multiple times and it came out a year later than planned. She said she had started writing the best music of her career and wanted to include it on the album. Well it’s here now and there’s no progression at all. This album sounds almost exactly like her previous albums. The single "Waves" is an amazing song and it really was a new sound for her. I would’ve loved for the album to explore that sound more. "Nice to Meet Ya" also has a very interesting production, as well as "Another Opinion". Those songs really stand out because they don’t sound like the rest. Then there’s the sexy self-worth bop "Genetics" which is great to dance to. "Funk" is an extremely fun song but its chorus is a pit repetitive, the same goes for "No Excuses". "Workin' On It" and "After You" give you two beautiful ballads. "Ashes" is also a nice song about a toxic relationship.
That’s one half of the album. Then there’s the other half. The other half is so boring and cringy in some parts. "Blink" and "Evil Twin" are the definition of bubblegum pop and pretty annoying. "Babygirl" discusses the same body positivity message that Meghan has on every album and it's pretty boring. "Lie To Me" and "Here To Stay" are very uneventful and just fillers. "Have You Now" is an okay song and an alright ending for the album. Nothing special though.

So the album does have some good, fun pop moments. I do want Meghan to do pure pop because we need some artists who give us pure pop in this hip-hop and trap dominated music world but stop doing bubblegum music and find some new topics to sing about. It’s not a terrible album but it’s just okay. Favorites: Waves, Genetics & Workin' On It

amazing album. Finally after the delaye Meghan serves an amazing album with catchy songs. “Baby girl” is an empowering song, full of charm and motivation. The collabs with **** Dolls in Genetics works extremely well and the vocals mix well. Her collab with Nicki Minaj is also a good song. 10/10

It is one of the most mediocre albums of the year for pop music. She tried to make a variety of tracks, blending styles and genres, but she mostly failed. Really sad for an artist who won the Grammy's Best New Artist award some years before. I hope she tries harder next time because she has a lot of potential.

Fun, but mediocre. She always has great singles and then the album is such a disappointment. Like what the hell? I was super excited after Waves and Nice to Meet You, and then such a collection of generic songs.

Loved it. Felt amazing throughout this journey, she experimented with sounds she’s never had before. Had better lyrics and vocals.

As a fan of Meghan previously, this album has sucked the fun out of her music. Reduced to a formulaic mess of washed up trends and overblown production choices.

Si y no, me gustaron algunas canciones...
Meghan es muy talentosa, pero sinceramente debería enfocarse en canciones con ritmos movidos porque es muy buena en eso, y no en baladas :/
Wave, Genetics, Nice To Meet Ya mis favoritas.

In most cases she succeded and brought us a solid pop album. There are some really-really strong songs, some typical Meghan Trainor doo-woop sounds, some ballads and some regular pop sounds. Some songs you will forget immediately or won't even notice but others you will sing and dance for days or weeks. All the features add something unique and new to the songs (although the PCD addition could've been a bit more...extra). The Deluxe version is just lifting it up a few nothes, addig 3 amazing new songs and 2 acoustic versions.

Top 3+1: Wave, Underwater, Workin' On It + Make You Dance

I liked this album very much. Only Babygirl and Blink are skips. The others are very nice to hear. However, she needs to stop bringing the same love yourself songs. She has no growth at all.

Treat Myself is ladened with the same girl gang hoots and hollers and fluffernutter hooks that popularized preceding albums Title and Thank You, but with a little more urban beat thrown in.

The result is an album that tries to be all things to all people, a sonic overload that bludgeons the listener with bastardized “empowerment” for 15 songs. Treat Myself is clogged with oozing ballads, contaminated funk, and garish shudders of EDM.

Delayed for over a year, Treat Myself lacks some of the effortless charm of her debut as Trainor trades her breezy singer/songwriter energy in favor of a sophisticated production style that sometimes threatens to lose her in the mix. Still, there are plenty of fun moments.
