It's by turns soft and loud, gentle and harsh, humanistic and totally machine. And it's very, very danceable. It's the album you were hoping Daft Punk would write last time, only Daft Punk didn't write it-but they did score a major assist from their friends here.

With a varied group of artists ranging from established names (Moby, the Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold) to up-and-comers (Com Truise, Pretty Lights), the collection offers eclectic tangents on the retro-futuristic musical world Daft Punk created.

TRON: Legacy Reconfigured succeeds as much as most remix projects do, which is to say about 50% of the time, and without Daft Punk's name attached to the project it's doubtful it would have attracted much attention.

  1. Losing much of the atmosphere of the TRON: Legacy soundtrack in exchange for the danceable tracks people have come to expect from Daft Punk releases. It's so different I would even recommend it to those who didn't enjoy the soundtrack to begin with. Expand

  2. This is what the Tron Legacy soundtrack should have been. As much as I may have enjoyed the Tron Legacy OST, the ost was still a very contrasting work. Their electronica never seemed to fully blend and merge with the orchestral tone. It was a valiant effort for sure but it is not classic. Reconfigured on the other hand is exactly what I had expected from a Daft Punk soundtrack. Full of life and energy, full of wild beats that just pump colour into what ever they're playing over. Any Daft Punk fan should pick it up and give it a spin. Expand

Although lacking the cohesion and consistency of Daft Punk's own work, Reconfigured brings what many Daft Punk fans lamented the lack of in Tron: Legacy - the energy, excitement and joy that made Homework and Discovery so memorable. Reconfigured ditches the moodiness and suspense for the better - it comes out as the Tron Soundtrack that delivers what the fans wanted and expected from Daft Punk, not what the film's producer required. A must listen. Highlights: The Grid (The Crystal Method Remix), Rinzler (Kaskade Remix) Expand
