  • Summary: Following the unexpected critical and commercial success of M!ssundaztood, Pink returns with a third, even more rock-oriented album. Linda Perry returns to helm just a few tracks, with the bulk of the producing/writing chores falling to Rancid's Tim Armstrong.
Score distribution:
  1. Positive: 12 out of 18
  2. Negative: 1 out of 18
  1. While Pink's peers take incremental, cautious artistic steps forward, she's slyly fearless, choosing the right collaborators that help her create pop music that has both style and substance to spare.
  2. 80
The only thing missing is a killer pop hit to follow "Get the Pary Started." [Nov 2003, p.120]
  3. Pink pitches a brand of seriousness that is pure Lifetime-TV mawkishness.

After M!ssundaztood, Try This was kind of a flop for me. It lacks the catchiness and emotion that M!ssundaztood had an abundance of, and only a select few of the tracks worked. But the tracks that worked did work very well (God Is A DJ, Save My Life, Last to Know). Final: If you want similar material, only better, get P!nk's album I'm Not Dead instead. Expand
