No swearing, so your mom can rock it as well. This is good. Tight beats, smart lyrics and some nice hit material as well.

Amazing album. I cant believe Kanye and 50 got all the press! Amazing beats, clever lyrics and well done hooks. The guest appearances are well placed and don't suffocate Cham'.

This album slaps, no doubt about it. Dope beats ("U Must Be Crazy", just to name one), and way more insightful and 'thought-provoking' lyrics than anything 50 could ever spit AND with out cussing. I almost expected a slightly better Will Smith record, but like others said already, this should be top candidate for Album of the Year. Once again proving 50 is only business and knows close to nothing about the rap game. As far as South rap, the best I've heard so far (yup, including UGK), and even tho they're different I like this better than Kanye's, as well. 9.5 Expand

This is the best rap CD I've heard all year! Period. It's impressive because even though there's no profanity on this project, it remains potent, conscience, and lyrical all at the same time. The concepts, tracks, versatile flow, and catchy hooks are unmatched by most MC's that's in the game right now.

Personally, I view this cd as a ten. Upon scanning metacritics most critically-acclaimed albums, one can't but wonder what it would take for a hip hop album to achieve universal respect; it appears as though many reviewers just hand the album a seven or eight while at the same time, they say that it is better than both Kanye's and 50's or that it is one of the best albums in a long time. Would those two things alone not justify at least an 8.5? If Chamillionaire has only earned a 7, then is a 9.5 even possible for a hip hop album? Expand

Chamillionaire's new album is great ! I definitely think he should win rap album of the year. The lyrics are on point, they are much more exciting than other rappers have to offer. Vocals are also a good plus! No doubt, one of the best albums of the year!

Should compete for album of the year along with the likes of Common, Kanye, Talib Kweli, and UGK.

Not as awesome as people would lead you to believe. But the growth Chamillionaire has had from being a rapper to an actual music artist is respectable. Some songs on this album are just good, others are downright amazing. But the majority of it hits an above average stride. Not something totally out of this world, but still something respectable. This could very well be the best hip-hop album of 2007 so far, and this was a true surprise. I give it a 9 because there are a couple of missteps. For one, the album, at 79 minutes, might be a bit too long, and the Lil' Wayne featured "Rockstar" just feels forced, like they're trying to cash in on the "Party Like A Rockstar" hit of this past summer. But with no profanity or use of the n-word, mind you, Chamillionaire mixes wit with social commentary, the slow and laid back with the up-tempo, and takes shots at others while backing up what he says. The top-notch beats only enhance the listening experience (my favorite being the "Final Countdown" sample for "Industry Groupie"). I hope this doesn't get lost in the Kanye/50 hype. It's hard to say if this is better than Kanye's Graduation, as Kanye is just a different brand of hip-hop. But Ultimate Victory is solid, and worthy of Grammy consideration. Expand

Absolutely the best album of 07. Lyrically, he hit on everything. He covered plenty of ground within 19 songs. Every song was something that most people could relate to. In many cases his lyrics draw more attention than the productions. Which proves a point that I've made for years. Good rappers/artis can make an average beat come alive.

This album was superb in my opinion. I have listened to this album at LEAST 10 times since buying it and tonight when i go to sleep I will be jamming to it as I fall asleep. 1. Past a few missteps, the album is a winning embrace of hip-hop with commentaries on beefs, nostalgic pining for better days, and a positive outlook for the future of the genre.

The rapper's message hits home on most of the curse-free tracks--though at times misogyny undermines his holier-than-thou stance. [21 Sep 2007, p.82]
  3. Ultimate Victory is everything one could have hoped for as an official sophomore album follow-up to "The Sound of Revenge"--there's no slump here.
