  1. Why You Runnin’ may only be an EP--one can only hope Lissie has enough slow-smoked melody in her arsenal to sustain an entire album--but it's one of 2009’s finest folk releases regardless.
  2. Under The Radar
    70
Her towering single "Little Lovin'" and the Cat Power-like " Oh Mississippi" halmark a preview EP tailor-made for long nights wearing cut-off jeans, drawing long drags from a Marlboro, and swigging Pabst Blue Ribbbon. [Holiday 2009, p.82]
  3. 70
It doesn’t hurt that Bill Reynolds of Band of Horses produced the five-song EP, and though it clocks in at a brief 20 minutes, it’s worth repeated listenings.
  4. Her powerful voice involves a haunting dip in intensity at the end of her phrases, and her loudest moments have the perfect amount of reverb to really tug at your heartstrings.
