    This album is filled with amazing electronic beats and instrumentals. Very dance-able. Also has songs that really show that katy has grown so much as an artist.

    In her weakest album,Katy shows that being an empty hit maker for years won't help you when you want to show a little more substance.Supported by three forgettable singles,the album fails to show a more mature and conscious Katy,while trying to keep her roots in pop bangers.

    This album is such a disappointment... Songs aren't as catchy as they could be, some are in all honesty barely listenable. As for the lyrics, it's a mixed feeling from me. Katy Perry has certainly done better and this album will not go down as her masterpiece.

    This album is a hot mess! I love Katy but nothing matches here, the ballads are weak (usually they are wonderful in her albums) and the song that gives title to the album is a failure. The singles are really the highlights of 'Witness', Pendulum and Power are good though. But they seem to not fit in the concept of the album, if there is one.

    Album totalmente sem pé nem cabeça. Sonoridade e produções horríveis. Katy Perry infelizmente errou feito em tudo neste álbum. Não tenho como avaliar positivamente.

    Com apenas 3 musicas razoáveis, com feats incoerentes, mixagens pouco originais, Katy Perry faz mais do mesmo do gênero e cai num retrocesso. Depois de 4 anos a palavra que define é frustração.

    I have no high hopes for this album whatsoever. I just know that this is going to be terrible way before it's released. Trying to stay away from mainstream pop but ended up sounding one anyway makes this album a super epic fail. I do not recommend this album to anyone looking for real good music.

    Her best album so far, every track has a story behind it and it's cohesive. Loved Witness, Deja Vu, Roulette, Hey Hey Hey. It's her most artistic, personal and cohensive album to date.

    Es uno de los mejores álbumes que puede tener katy perry,. trae consigo sonidos de los 80 , baladas bien hechas y canciones para bailar ( en otras palabra , todo lo que se tiene que tener para un buen álbum).

Katy Perry left deciding to change and now composed lyrics a little somber and with bands very different from what she would release years ago, the album can transport you to another world, where Katy tries to open her eyes to things that we should pay attention to.
    Despite the resiliency that was very present on the album, Katy brought strong and powerless lyrics as in Power, hey hey and pendulum, she was still able to highlight her vocals in the tracks.
    Although the first singles did not get a good approval from the public it is necessary to give a chance to this album that has great songs but that need to be digested in a slow way so as not to frighten its listeners.    … Expand

    Witness es un viaje a travez de sonidos diferentes que Katy no habia tocado pero, apesar de tener buenas canciones su voz no llega a acoplarse correctamente, y no llega a ser agradable a mi gusto, un disco muy bueno y arriegado, pero ese riesgo no fue del todo bueno.
    Recomendable si les gustan los sonidos diferentes, aun mas que sus 3 singles.

    Um álbum bastante esperado, que ao meu ver começou bem e foi dando deslizes no seu decorrer. Katy apresenta uma proposta inicial de empoderamento que é quebrada nas duas próximas músicas lançadas (bon appetit e swith swith) que remetem a sexualização da mulher e afronte entre mulheres, respectivamente.

The singles are bad, the album tracks are bad, even the title track that sounded amazing as a demo sounds bad. She truly has no talent, creativity or artistic vision to do anything related to music.     This is definitely Katy's Artpop era. Except for Pendulum, Roulette and the Nicki track nothing is very appealing. A downgrade from Prism and not worth a 4 year wait. But the singles will be over played on the radio. The entire album was made for the radio. I think she is using Taylor's name to sell.

    This album is basic. I did not find anything special. Probably these good notes of the users here are of Katycats accustomed with the basic one. I found Prism slightly better, but nothing very surprising. What to expect from a basic artist like Katy Perry? In that Era, Katy is lost. Poor girl.

    Typical mediocre bublegoom pop album by Katy Perry. Nothing new, innovative or impressive, always the same. She never reinvents herself. The critics agree with me, no wonder why they are giving her such average/negative reviews, it's what she deserves lol

    This is just a generic album with silly lyrics and flat sounds, I hope that katy improves in her next album because this is just a mess, the only good songs of the album are witness and into me you see.

    Definitely her best album vocally and production wise. Highlights include 'Power', 'Tsunami', and 'Into Me You See'. Personal favourite is 'Act My Age' which is only available on the deluxe version. Would definitely suggest buying this album. I Love u Katy.

    I know that I'm a month late to the party of metacritic reviews, but I figured that I should review this anyway. Just remember, my opinion is only worth what it's worth to you and that it really doesn't matter what I think. The album starts off strong for 10 seconds... and quickly dies in an explosion of overbloated production and annoying vocal effects. The whistling was annoying, theI know that I'm a month late to the party of metacritic reviews, but I figured that I should review this anyway. Just remember, my opinion is only worth what it's worth to you and that it really doesn't matter what I think. The album starts off strong for 10 seconds... and quickly dies in an explosion of overbloated production and annoying vocal effects. The whistling was annoying, the synth reminded me of the 80s (I hate being reminded of the 80s), and the lyrics overall were particularly uninspiring, let alone the fact that they were seemingly random at many points, especially during Swish Swish (Shellfish? Sheep? WTF?) Just because lyrics rhyme doesn't mean that the lyrics themselves are good... swish swish bish... I can't believe it took 7 people to come up with that "catchy chorus." Nicki's appearance in this album was incredibly annoying and somewhat laughable (The way she says the word despise is especially chuckleworthy.) Anyway, the reason as to why I didn't give it a 0, was simply because of the intrigue I still have over the first ten seconds of this album. I can't believe I listened to the whole thing.

    If you were offended by my review, I'm sorry I didn't enjoy the album as much as you did, and I'm happy that you managed to listen through the whole entire album in joy when I couldn't even stand the chorus of what was supposed to be the best song on the whole entire album... so congrats on not being as negative as me, and have a nice day. :)    … Expand

    If an album make you cry, it's a masterpiece and it made me cry at its first track. this song is indeed a 360 degree liberation and it empowers us in different kind of scenarios. the over all impact of the album is 99/100. Far best from other album released this year. Just listen to the music with digesting all of its lyrics to know the real beauty of it.

    Tem alguns hinos como Roulette, Hey Hey Hey, Miss You More, Pendulum, e algumas bombas como Mind Maze, Bon Appetit, Power, no geral foi um álbum bem mediano. Infelizmente esse não é o melhor trabalho da Katy Perry, Teenage Dream pisa.

Llega más de 3 años después de PRISM y es el primer álbum de Katy Perry descrito, por la propia cantante, como purposeful pop, es decir, de pop con propósito o comprometido.

Witness, Swish Swish, CTTR e Pendulum são os grandes destaques do álbum, porém não conseguem se sobressair sobre as músicas medianas/ruins do álbum. Mesmo sendo mais coeso que Prism (sonoramente falando), isso não salva o resto do álbum. As letras e os hooks são esquecíveis comparados a outrosO álbum segue um conceito de "libertação", porém é muito confuso acompanha-lo logo em seu começo.     Katy Perry gave us a new concept of her, a totally diferent road in comparisson to her previous albums, has great instrumentals and also her vocal range has improved a lot since 2013's Prism

    The album has a few catchy songs, but sometimes it feels like she's trying to hard to be something different, to do something that nobody has ever done before her. But the album just falls flat. It looks like Katy Perry really is chained to that rhythm. Because, apart from 2 or 3 (really) good ones, the songs feel quite generic and bland.

    A vast differentiation from Katy's old music. At first listen, it may seem dreary and repetitive, it does take a few listens to warm up, and become accustomed to the different beats and sounds of each song. Half of the album can be added to your playlist for continued listening, with few very leaving an impact.

    The wait was worth it, the ballads are perfect and the rhythms very balanced.

    I swear critics just want her to re-release the same music over and over again. Sorry that Katy raised the bar so high with Teenage Dream but move on and accept that she is continuously evolving. This album was definitely worth the wait and my favourite track is constantly changing which just proves what a great record Witness is overall. Do not be fooled by the biased critics.

    ''Power'' and ''Witness'' are the only songs that you can rescue from the album, the rest are very simple. ''Swish Swish'' is also good, but actually everyone likes just for the verse of Nicki Minaj.

    This album is the best of Katy so far, and one of the best masterpieces of this century. The history, melody and the lyrics makes you travel to another level and feel the song like you are living the moment. Katy did a great job on this record!

    This is Katy's most coesive work to date. "Tsunami", "Power" and "Into Me You See" are clearly the standout tracks that shows Katy's growth. On Teenage Dream and PRISM sure she delivered some career highlights such as Firework and Walking On Air, but on Witness, she's on top of her game with amazing lyrics and new producers. The highlight off the album are Witness, Hey Hey Hey, Power, Tsunami, Save As Draft and Into Me You See, this last one is an increbie ballad that show us how vulnerable Katy is.

    This is certainly Katy's most courageous album, she left the flowers and lollipops to show the world she grew musically and mentally. Witness is all we need to hear, the instrumental is something that takes us to another world and that shows us the growth of Katy in several aspects. "Hey Hey Hey" really does not give me security, but rather one of the best songs on the    Witness, the album.

"Roulette" with all its dance music tracks from the 80's, certainly deserves attention and deserved to be there. "Swish Swish" could have been a better thing ... And yet it's still great in my opinion, Nicki and Katy together has always been a dream. "Deja Vu and Power" were songs that did not disappoint in aspect NONE, Katy did and did well done. "Tsunami", and sure enough, a song that we need to talk about, she could be lead, first, second and third single, but somewhere important she has to be ... Like "Roulette" she deserves to be where she is. "Mind Maze" I have no words to describe the love I felt in the first 10 seconds of music. "Miss You More, Pendulum, Save As Draft and Chained To The Rhythm" you deserve our respect and affection. "Into Me You See" this song made me come back in Teenage Dream and hear "Pearl" again ... That's when I saw ... "Katy Perry and the best person in the world" changed and changed without losing its essence like person. Unfortunately "Bon Appetit" did not please everyone, but, and a song that should play in the ballad for sure. Katy, I love you.    … Expand

Déjà Vu has a catchy beat, and Mind Maze should not be forgotten: it could play all night at the club, and you would still be singing. ChainedMature, confident and unique, Witness is a masterpiece. It has a dark vibe and has a message in every song, something that is really difficult to find in other albums. The first track, Witness, makes you want to see through the eyes of the others. Déjà Vu has a catchy beat, and Mind Maze should not be forgotten: it could play all night at the club, and you would still be singing. Chained To The Rhythm, the lead single, opens your eyes and shows the dark side of the society and the technology. Actually, the whole album has a dark vibe, and you don't have to "be scared to dive in deep", because the sonority is amazing. Roulette is a sweet milkshake made with the 80s discos and silk shirts, while Power has not only the craziest drum solo ever found in a pop album, but also the best lyrics of the record. Save as Draft and Miss You More, the perfect melodies for an acoustic session, are simply stunning. Into Me You See is a ballad that exhales comprehension with lyrics like "Into me you'll see/ You got me wide open/ Now I'm ready/ This is intimacy", ending the confection with the perfect dot.… Expand

    Para entender esse álbum vc precisa enxerga-lo como um diário, um diário de uma mulher, que ontem enfrentou os dilemas de seu "Sonho Adolescente" e teve que deixar a luz entrar em seu "Prisma". Esse diário, hoje mostra uma mulher madura e na procura de sua libertação. Sem é claro decepcionar seus fãs, trazendo com essa "libertação", muitos Hinos.

    Diferente de tudo o que ela já fez. Arriscado porém bem sucedido. Uma obra prima de criatividade, emoção e empoderamento. Soube expressar e ousar da melhor forma. Com certeza um de seus melhores trabalhos sem ter nada convencional em relação a repetitiva indústria musical.

    While it's certainly missing any form of coherency, Witness does feel like you're growing with Perry - going on this journey that's helped her find new ground and a reinvigorated appreciation for all walks of the pop music spectrum.

    It’s a real shame Witness has come out as a bit of a disjointed mess, as there’s a decent record somewhere in there, but it gets lost in the fog of endless guest productions and co-writes that miss the point entirely.
